This research discusses the study on water law and the problematic of fulfillment of human rights to water in Indonesia. The focus of this research is to address the rights in accessing and obtaining water, as an essential prerequisite of human’s livelihood. This research also considers a case to describe the protection of the human right to water actualized in Indonesians daily life. The outcome of this research shows that there are dire problems and challenges in fulfilling human rights to water in Indonesia. One of interesting developments about the global security is the issue of territorial disputes in the South China Sea between Philippines and China. Philippines has brought the dispute to the Permanent Court of Arbitration. The ruling from Permanent Court of Arbitration said that China’s claim about a nine-dash line does not have a legal basis. However, China rejects the ruling and remains aggressive which might cause instability in South China Sea region. This research aims to look at the implications of the ruling of the Permanent Court of Arbitration for State Parties and states around the South China Sea region. …

This article aims to visualize a concept for an appropriate exploitation of tanah ulayat (lands traditionally owned by local community/LTOBLC). This concept would reform the use of LTOBLC to welfare the local society. To envision this idea, this research identified the problems that the lack of scheme for managing the LTOBLC and misconception the principle of social justice as mentioned at the fifth Sila of Pancasila has disabled the local community to come out from the long-term structured poverty since the Dutch colonialism until now. Energy sovereignty in Indonesia is experiencing problems with a decrease in national energy security. This paper highlights how the Indonesian government attempted to make their way out through the establishment of the National Energy Policy Objectives contained in Government Regulation No. 79 Year 2014. That effort encountered some obstacles. Firstly, Indonesia is very dependent on energy imports to supply the energy needs of society. Secondly, non-renewable energy reserves dwindling and Indonesia is predicted to run out in a short time. Third, renewable energy in Indonesia undeveloped.
