Principles Of Contract Law Applied To Entertainment And Sports Contracts: A Model For Balancing The Rights Of The Industry With Protecting The Interests Of Minors, John H. Shannon, Richard J. Hunter Jr.
Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review
This Article discusses the context of common law and statutory materials dealing with minors who participate in the entertainment and sports fields. The Article describes the changes undertaken as a result of several notorious cases involving prominent child actors, and how the California legislature dealt with issues ranging from set asides of income, approval of contracts by a competent court of jurisdiction, recognition of the legitimate interests of all parties to the contract, to principles under which a minor would be precluded from disaffirming a contract. The Article then applies and extends the principles developed in entertainment contracts to minors …

This research generally examines the concept of property without nomination and its administration in Malaysia. In order to examine the administration of the property, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) institution was selected. The main discussion of this research focuses on the EPF claim application and its distribution aspects. Both of the aspects are stated in the EPF Regulations 2001. Furthermore this research is concentrated on the administrative issues of the claim and distribution of the property. Withholding Taxes On Wage Dividends For Pre-Bankruptcy Wages Assigned To Fourth Priority In Distribution Of Bankrupt's Estate-In Re Connecticut Motor Lines, Inc., Michigan Law Review

Among claims against a bankrupt estate were those for unpaid wages and vacation pay earned within three months of the bankruptcy of the employer. The referee ordered distribution of the amount of the claims, assigning them second priority, but he refused to authorize deduction of income withholding tax and social security taxes from these payments as requested by the Government. The district court reversed, holding the trustee in bankruptcy liable for the taxes as a first priority administrative expense. On appeal, held, reversed. Taxes based on wage claims accruing prior to bankruptcy but paid during bankruptcy are section 64a(4) …
