Recently the Supreme Court rules in JDB v North Carolina, that a child’s age properly informs the Miranda custody analysis, so long as the child age is known to the officer at time of questioning. This case extends the previous Miranda Warning law that was created from Miranda v. Arizonia, 384 U.S. 436, which came out of the Warren Court. After the Miranda decision, Congress created a criminal procedure law called “Miranda Rights.” This study will go into an in-depth analysis of the policy affected by court decisions particularly Miranda and J.D.B while discussing a few other issues that have …
