Meet Mirat Legal Reasoning Fragmented Into Learnable Chunks, John H. Wade

John Wade

Extract: Here is one method of describing the analytical aspect of "thinking like a lawyer" which has proved to many law students to be: * easy to remember * able to be used at different levels of sophistication * capable of use in every area of law * useful to define a personal or group educational goal * a reasonably precise method for a student to measure his/her performance in any written/spoken exercise * a helpful method for teachers to model in chunks * a satisfying method for marking written or spoken analytical exercises as strengths and weaknesses of each …

Capital Punishment: The Never Ending Debte, Krishna Kumari Areti Jul 2007

Capital Punishment: The Never Ending Debte, Krishna Kumari Areti

Krishna Kumari Areti prof

Capital Punishment is as old as human history. So as the debate. Some people advocate abolition of Capital Punishment, while some strongly oppose the abolition of Capital Punishment. Lioce, 149 P.3d 916 (Nev. 2006) the Nevada Supreme Court both provided significant guidance …

Laugh Track, Jay D. Wexler Jan 2005

Laugh Track, Jay D. Wexler

Faculty Scholarship

The Supreme Court may have its own police force, its own museum curator, and even its own basketball court, but unlike the courts of yore it has no Jester. But which Justice provides the best comic entertainment for the court watchers, lawyers, and staff that make up the Court’s audience on any given argument day? Surely many believe that Justice Scalia, with his acerbic wit and quick tongue, has provided the most laughs from …
