香港僱員假期的全面修正 = A Complete Revision Of Employees Holiday In Hong Kong, Kwok Keung Chow
Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies Working Paper Series
This paper discusses "festival holidays" , which is one kind of the right to rest of the workers , in Hong Kong. It analyses the historical development and amendments of the provisions of holiday with pay of the Employment Ordinance and the confusion caused before and after the exercise of the resumption of sovereignty of Hong Kong. A complete revision of the said provisions is required. In this regard , this paper proposes therefore that the Government should amend relevant legislation so as to include the "5-1" Labourer Day as a general holiday in and after …

Medieval alchemy is popularly associated with attempts to become rich by transmuting base elements into gold. Such attempts were less than universally successful. Yet, alchemy yielded great benefits in other areas. For instance, alchemy was one of the sources of modern sciences such as pharmacology and metallurgy.' Also, the rich and profound symbology of alchemy has influenced modern psychology.
Something similar may be said of critical tax studies. Such studies have argued that the Internal Revenue Code as a whole, or significant features of it, disadvantage-intentionally or unintentionally-groups historically oppressed or ignored by American society. Some of these arguments have …

Profits In Cyberspace: Should Newspaper And Magazine Publishers Pay Freelance Writers For Digital Content?, Rod Dixon Esq.
Michigan Telecommunications & Technology Law Review
It is remarkable how fast recent trends have driven an increasing number of publishers of magazines, newspapers, and other similar works to port the print version of their works to digital and electronic format in the form of online computer databases and multimedia CDROM technologies. Online computer databases and CD-ROM media can be exceptionally profitable ventures for publishers who convert a preexisting print work into a digital product. However, publishers' profits from digital media may be impaired if there is a question as to whether the publisher has satisfactorily secured the copyright to the material making up the digital media. …
