Professor Dov Greenbaum directs Reichman University’s Zvi Meitar Institute for Legal Implications of Emerging Technologies and is an adjunct professor at Yale University in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. Dr. Greenbaum holds degrees and postdocs from Yeshiva University, Yale, UC-Berkeley, Stanford, and ETH Zurich. His doctoral research focused on informatics and big data. Before academia, he practiced law in Silicon Valley and in Israel.

Professor Betsy Ginsberg and her Civil Rights Clinic worked with Professor Alexander Reinert and the law firm Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel to come to a settlement with the federal government after people incarcerated at Metropolitan Detention Center, a Brooklyn federal jail, were subjected to a week without heat or electricity during a 2019 polar vortex.

There are 41 students in this year’s May class, with most hailing from New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. The class also features students from Arizona, California, Washington D.C., Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. In addition to domestic students, Cardozo welcomed international students born in China, the Dominican Republic, France, Germany, India and Iran.

In an emotional visit to the Cardozo Law campus on April 26, two days after his release from prison, Bruce Bryant thanked students from The Perlmutter Forensic Science Freedom Field Clinic who helped him win clemency.

On April 18, Cardozo held a warm and festive Donors & Scholars Cocktail Reception. The annual event brought together outstanding students who have benefited from scholarship and stipend support wth the generous donors who make it possible.

Dean Melanie Leslie ’91, 2L Zoe Sheppard and Shoshana Bookson ’82 each spoke of the critical importance to students and the tremendous value of giving back to the Cardozo community.
