Pt/G-C3N4 Nanosheet For Visible Light €“Induced Enhancement Of The Activity For Formic Acid Electro-Oxidation, Yong-Rong Sun, Chun-Yu Du, Guo-Kang Han, Ya-Jing Wang, Yun-Zhi Gao, Ge-Ping Yin

Journal of Electrochemistry

By using graphitic carbon nitride nanosheet (g-C3N4 nanosheet) as a support,Pt/g-C3N4 nanosheet catalyst was fabricated by microwave assisted polylol process. The nanoparticles size, composition, structure and optical properties of Pt/g-C3N4 nanosheet were characterized by TEM,XRD,XPS and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Comparing with the catalytic activities toward formic acid electro-oxidation under dark and visible light illumination, the superior activity of Pt/g-C3N4 nanosheet catalyst was achieved under visible light illumination. This visible light-driven enhancement in the formic acid performance could be attributed to the plasmon-induced electron-hole separation on g-C3N4 with …

Syntheses Of Carbon Paper Supported High-Index Faceted Pt Nanoparticles And Their Performance In Direct Formic Acid Fuel Cells, Long Huang, Mei Zhan, Yu-Cheng Wang, Yan-Fen Lin, Shuo Liu, Ting Yuan, Hui Yang, Shi-Gang Sun Apr 2016

Syntheses Of Carbon Paper Supported High-Index Faceted Pt Nanoparticles And Their Performance In Direct Formic Acid Fuel Cells, Long Huang, Mei Zhan, Yu-Cheng Wang, Yan-Fen Lin, Shuo Liu, Ting Yuan, Hui Yang, Shi-Gang Sun

Journal of Electrochemistry

Direct formic acid fuel fuels (DFAFCs) are promising energy source for portable electronic devices. Palladium (Pd) is more active than platinum (Pt) for the formic acid electrooxidation. However, the stability of Pd is much poorer than that of Pt. Unfortunately, the ultra-low natural abundance of the Pt makes it extremely expensive and limits its application as a fuel cell catalyst. Boosting both the activity and stability of Pt nanoparticles to enhance their efficiency is urgent. As previous works illustrated, nanoparticles enclosed with high-index facets usually bare a higher activity toward fuel cell related reactions than those nanoparticles with low-index facet. …

Preparation, Characterization And Electrochemical Properties Of Nano Tio_(2)-Cnt-Pt On Ti Substrate Complex Electrode, Dao-Bao Chu May 2005

Preparation, Characterization And Electrochemical Properties Of Nano Tio_(2)-Cnt-Pt On Ti Substrate Complex Electrode, Dao-Bao Chu

Journal of Electrochemistry

The nanoTiO_(2)-CNT-Pt on Ti substrate complex electrodes were prepared from precursor of (Ti(OEt)_(4)) directly hydrolyzed and by cyclic voltammograms electroplating method . The XRD and SEM results showed that the nano TiO_(2) (anatase) particle sizes ranged 5~10 nm and the Pt nanoparticle (average size 9nm) dispersed uniformly on nanoTiO_(2)-CNT film surface. The electrocatalytic activity of Ti/nanoTiO_(2)-CNT-Pt electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiogram. The results indicated that the Ti/nanoTiO_(2)-CNT-Pt electrode exhibited very high electrocatalytic activity and stability for the electro-oxidation of methanol at room temperature. When Pt loading was 0.32 mg/cm~(2), the oxidation peak current of methanol was 480 …
