Methods For Inference And Analysis Of Gene Networks From Rna Sequencing Data, Himangi Srivastava
Methods For Inference And Analysis Of Gene Networks From Rna Sequencing Data, Himangi Srivastava
Theses and Dissertations
RNA (Ribonuceic Acid) sequencing technology is a powerful technology used to give re- searchers essential information about the functionality of genes. The transcriptomic study and downstream analysis highlight the functioning of the genes associated with a specific biological process/treatment. In practice, differentially expressed genes associated with a particular treatment or genotype are subjected to downstream analysis to find some critical set of genes. This critical set of genes/ genes pathways infers the effect of the treatment in a cell or tissue. This disserta- tion describes the multiple stages framework of finding these critical sets of genes using different analysis methodologies …
Investigation Of Mass-Manufactured Nanostructured Material For Contamination Detection Via Structural Color Analysis, Oisin Biswas
Investigation Of Mass-Manufactured Nanostructured Material For Contamination Detection Via Structural Color Analysis, Oisin Biswas
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has underlined the importance of monitoring surface contamination of infectious elements on commonly used surfaces. Current monitoring methods of surfaces are both lengthy and expensive. The work in this project took advantage of the optical phenomenon of structural color to develop a rapid, low-cost, and contactless method of surface contamination detection. To accomplish this, a mass-produced material imprinted with a nanostructured pattern capable of exhibiting this structural color phenomenon was used. Structural color, or the bands of color that appear as different wavelengths of light reflect off a textured surface, can vary as a …

Analysis Of Laminated Beams: A Bibliometric Review, Arati Waghmare, Sanjay Kulkarni
Analysis Of Laminated Beams: A Bibliometric Review, Arati Waghmare, Sanjay Kulkarni
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
In this paper statistical analysis of literature on “Analysis of Laminated Beams” using Scopus and Web of Science database is done. Reason behind bibliometric study of literature is to understand the extent of research in this particular area. Since Scopus and Web of Science indexing are known as the most reliable sources amongst all the peer reviewed journals, literature from Scopus and Web of Science database only is taken into consideration. Benchmarks used for the analysis are publications in a year, published articles of different authors, citations of authors etc. Considered period is from 2000 to 2020. It is found …

Main Stages Of Automated System Of Processes For Determining And Ensuring Functional And Parametric Compatibility Of Production And Technological Systems, Sarvar Botir Ugli Nabiyev
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
This article presents the main stages of the development of an automated system of processes for determining and ensuring functional and parametric compatibility (FPC) of components of production and technological systems (PTS), in particular production and technological modules (PTM) of machine-building production, respectively, based on the analysis and systematization of technological zones of loading of the main technological equipment (MTE) and the construction of coating surfaces, the main parameters of industrial robots and storage systems (SS), determination and mathematical formalization of coating surfaces and guiding planes of MTE loading zones, formation of types of analytical dependences of FPC PTM functions, …
Image Analysis Of Charged Bimodal Colloidal Systems In Microgravity., Adam J. Cecil
Image Analysis Of Charged Bimodal Colloidal Systems In Microgravity., Adam J. Cecil
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Colloids are suspensions of two or more phases and have been topics of research for advanced, tunable materials for decades. Stabilization of colloids is typically attributed to thermodynamic mechanisms; however, recent studies have identified transport or entropic mechanisms that can potentially stabilize a thermodynamically unstable colloidal system. In this study, suspensions of silsesquioxane microparticles and zirconia nanoparticles were dispersed in a nitric acid solution and allowed to aggregate for 8-12 days in microgravity aboard the International Space Station. The suspensions were subsequently imaged periodically at 2.5x magnification. Due to the inadequacy of existing image analysis programs, the python package “Colloidspy” …
Isomotive Dielectrophoresis For Enhanced Analyses Of Cell Subpopulations., Mohamed Zakarya Rashed
Isomotive Dielectrophoresis For Enhanced Analyses Of Cell Subpopulations., Mohamed Zakarya Rashed
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
As the relentless dream of creating a true lab-on-a-chip device is closer to realization than ever before, which will be enabled through efficient and reliable sample characterization systems. Dielectrophoresis (DEP) is a term used to describe the motion of dielectric particles/ cells, by means of a non-uniform electric field (AC or DC). Cells of different dielectric properties (i.e., size, interior properties, and membrane properties) will act differently under the influence of dielectrophoretic force. Therefore, DEP can be used as a powerful, robust, and flexible tool for cellular manipulation, separation, characterization, and patterning. However, most recent DEP applications focus on …
Thermal Conductivity Measuring Device, Kyle Saalfeld
Thermal Conductivity Measuring Device, Kyle Saalfeld
All Undergraduate Projects
The thermal conductivity measuring device is used to measure thermal conductivity of solids, liquids, and food products. Thermal conductivity is a material property that determines the rate at which heat disperses through a material. This determines how well insulation works, what materials are used as heat sinks, refrigeration, and how thoroughly food is cooked. The device measures thermal conductivity by heating up a thermistor bead using a high magnitude current for a measured duration and allowing the given heat to disperse; meeting the goal of designing a device that can easily measure the conductivity. Additional requirements of this device include …
A Parametric Study Of Lateral-Torsional Buckling In Pultruded Frp Beams Using Abaqus, Robert Nathaniel Baylor
A Parametric Study Of Lateral-Torsional Buckling In Pultruded Frp Beams Using Abaqus, Robert Nathaniel Baylor
Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports
Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites continue to gain popularity in civil and mechanical infrastructure due to a high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion-resistance, and low maintenance requirements. FRP can also fulfill niche roles requiring non-conductivity and magnetic transparency. The longitudinal forming of pultruded FRP makes it a natural choice for lightweight beams. Although FRP composites have a high strength for their weight, the elastic and shear moduli for glass FRP may only be 1/7 and 1/30 that of steel, respectively. These low stiffnesses make FRP composite beams particularly susceptible to lateral-torsional buckling (LTB). In addition, the low shear to elastic stiffness amplifies …
An Analysis Of A Hybrid Steel Bridge, Andrew Iglehart
An Analysis Of A Hybrid Steel Bridge, Andrew Iglehart
Mahurin Honors College Capstone Experience/Thesis Projects
The American Institute of Steel Construction hosts a competition for graduating college seniors each year. The competition is designing and fabricating a scaled steel bridge within certain parameters. Each year the parameters change to allow different seniors to face similar challenges without copying the previous year’s work. Before the outbreak of COVID-19, a bridge was fabricated as per the rules in the 2020, and the same bridge was used for the 2021 competition. With a bridge already fabricated and being used for the competition, a question arose about analyzing the bridge.
This thesis encompasses the entire analysis of the steel …

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
The movement of green buildings started all over the world after the development of different rating tools for the assessment of green buildings. In the present study, the research trends in the area of green building rating tools (GBRTs) were analysed through the Scopus database from the year 2000-2020. By using the different combinations of keywords, relevant articles were found after refining the search results. In this study, 482 relevant articles from the first set of keywords were considered till the period 4th February 2021 for further analysis. Results reveal that research on GBRTs was majority done only on …
