Evaluación Y Socialización De La Economía Campesina En La Vereda Naranjos Altos Y Presentación De La Experiencia Del Cultivo De Arveja (Pisum Sativum L.) Como Alternativa De Producción En El Municipio De Algeciras, Huila, Mercy Liliana Zapata Pinto

Outage Probability And Throughput Analyses In Full-Duplex Relaying Systems With Energy Transfer, Jiaman Li, Le Chung Tran, Farzad Safaei

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

In this article, we consider a dual-hop full-duplex (FD), amplify-and-forward, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) relaying network, where the relay operates based on a time-switching architecture to harvest energy from radio frequency signals. We use a polarization-enabled digital self-interference cancellation (PDC) scheme to cancel the self-interference signal at the relay in order to achieve FD communications. The paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the system performances in terms of outage probability and throughput over multipath Rayleigh fading channels. Furthermore, the optimal time split between the duration of energy harvesting and signal transmission to maximize the system throughput is numerically calculated. …

Synchronization is a crucial problem in the grid-connected inverter’s control and operation. A phase-locked loop (PLL) is a typical grid synchronization strategy, which ought to have a high resistance to power system uncertainties since its sensitivity influences the generated reference signal. The traditional PLL catches the phase and frequency of the input signal via the feedback loop filter (LF). In general, to enhance the steady-state capability during distorted grid conditions generally, a filter tuned for nominal frequency is used. This PLL corrects large frequency deviations around the nominal frequency, which increases the PLL’s locking time. Therefore, this paper presents an …

Model Predictive Control For A New Magnetic Linked Multilevel Inverter To Integrate Solar Photovoltaic Systems With The Power Grids, A M. Mahfuz-Ur-Rahman, Md Rabiul Islam, Kashem M. Muttaqi, Danny Sutanto Jan 2020

Model Predictive Control For A New Magnetic Linked Multilevel Inverter To Integrate Solar Photovoltaic Systems With The Power Grids, A M. Mahfuz-Ur-Rahman, Md Rabiul Islam, Kashem M. Muttaqi, Danny Sutanto

The multilevel inverters are becoming increasingly popular for use in the grid integration of wind and photovoltaic (PV) power plants due to their higher voltage handling capability and the better output power quality. There are several types of multilevel inverters that have been proposed in the literature; among them the active neutral point clamp (ANPC) multilevel inverters have been drawing significant attention specially for solving the problems with other multilevel inverters. However, with the increase of number of levels, the ANPC requires more electronic switches and flying capacitors, by which the complexity and the cost increases. In this paper, an …

Systemic Risk Management Plan For Electronic Medical Records (Emr): Why And How?, Ziniya Zahedi, Faisal Mahmud, Cesar Pinto

Engineering Management & Systems Engineering Faculty Publications

Electronic patient data use and handling are critical issues in terms of privacy, confidentiality, security, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. The risks associated with electronic patient data are not limited to identity theft but rather include a person’s social, economic, and psychological well-being. However, there have not been many studies that have focused on the associated risk factors that could lead to these situations. This paper identifies those risks related to electronic patient data breaches by means of a grounded theory approach and develops a systemic risk management plan that enables engineering managers and risk …

Beam-Based Analog Self-Interference Cancellation In Full-Duplex Mimo Systems, Anh Tuyen Le, Le Chung Tran, Xiaojing Huang, Y. Jay Guo

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

Self-interference (SI) cancellation for full-duplex (FD) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems is challenging due to both hardware and signal processing complexity. In this paper, a beam-based adaptive filter structure with analog least mean square (ALMS) loops is proposed to significantly reduce the complexity of SI cancellation for FD MIMO systems. With this structure, the number of adaptive filters required for SI cancellation scales linearly with the number of transmit beams rather than quadratically with the number of antennas. Furthermore, to avoid additional transmit chains used to upconvert the beam signals to generate reference signals for the ALMS loops, a …
