Laves phases are effective in tailoring the mechanical properties of alloys used for structural engineering applications. Therefore, it is an emerging research significance to investigate the deformation features of alloys comprising a Laves phase. In this work, the Ti–33Zr–xFe–yCr (x = 5, 7 wt% and y = 2, 4 wt%) alloys were designed in such a way that a Laves phase would form in the investigated Ti–33Zr–xFe–yCr alloys and later, cast by cold crucible levitation melting. It is now time for the future-generation and advanced greenhouse design practices to address a range of issues, from the energy and land use efficiency to providing plant-optimised growth techniques. In this Encyclopaedia record, we report on the practical development of spectrally selective and specialist-type advanced metal-dielectric thin-film filters that produce the optimized illumination spectrum when exposed to natural sunlight that can help maximize the biomass productivity of coated-glass greenhouse crops. Our experimental case study has been performed for the lettuce species, Lactuca sativa, L., yielding promising results.

The fabrication of the silver nanoparticles has been done using E-Beam evaporation on a glass substrate (Ag-NPs) and investigation of their nonlinear optical response (NLO). The silver nanoparticles was evaluated by optical spectrum (UV-Vis) that shows localized surface Plasmon band at 375 nm. Irradiation with swift heavy ions causes the deformation of Ferric nanoparticles in direction of the ion beam. Fe nanoparticles with mean diameter of about 20 nm were prepared by gas flow sputtering and subsequently confined within silica films. The performance of a dual helical ribbon impeller in a gassed stirred tank reactor filled with a shear-thinning polymer has been investigated experimentally in this study. Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose with different concentrations were applied to change the viscosity and rheological behaviour of working fluid. Multi-spindle drilling simultaneously produces multiple holes to save time and increase productivity. The assessment of hole quality is important in any drilling process and is influenced by characteristics of the cutting tool, drilling parameters and machine capacity. This study investigates the drilling performance of uncoated carbide, and coated carbide (TiN and TiCN) drills when machining Al2024 aluminium alloy. Thrust force and characteristics of hole quality, such as the presence of burrs and surface roughness, were evaluated. Poly-drill heads are used in mass production to increase productivity when a large number of holes are required. In this work, drilling experiments on Al5083 aluminium alloy were carried out using a poly-drill head to measure the thrust force and assess hole quality. Analysis of chip formations and post-machining tool condition were evaluated using optical microscopy. Additional drilling tests were conducted using one-shot drilling and results obtained from the two drilling techniques were evaluated against each other. Fe-based metallic glasses have been demonstrated as effective heterogeneous catalysts in Fenton-like processes for dye degradation. Multi-spindle drilling using a poly-drill head is an industrial hole-making approach that allows drilling several holes simultaneously. Polysulfone (PSF) was prepared under high shear in a vortex fluidic device (VFD) operating in confined mode, and its properties compared with that prepared using batch processing. This involved reacting the pre-prepared disodium salt of bisphenol A (BPA) with a 4,4′-dihalodiphenylsulfone under anhydrous conditions. This paper proposes a novel graph-based approach with automorphic grouping for the modelling, synthesis, and analysis of electric vehicle (EV) networks with charging stations (CSs) that considers the impacts of traffic. This paper covers the application of the cross-correlation method for measuring the velocity of solid particles. Capacitive electrodes are used as primary sensors to measure the time required by the solid particles to cover a known distance between the electrodes. Existing methods in neuromorphic olfaction mainly focus on implementing the data transformation based on the neurobiological architecture of the olfactory pathway. This study presents a detailed methodology for evaluating the energy, environmental, and economic contributions of heat pipe solar water heating (HPSWH) systems in various households. The hot water consumption patterns of Perth residents in Australia in one, two, and four-occupant houses are extracted in hourly basis throughout a year. The annual performance of the system is evaluated based on parameters such as saved energy, solar fraction, avoided CO2 emission, saved money, and payback period.
