Methods and simplified computational schemes for optimizing data processing for systems operating in conditions of limited a priori information, changes in the characteristics of external influences, uncertainty of parameters have been developed. To describe a non-stationary object, non-linear identification models are considered, constraints, input conditions for obtaining possible values of output variables are defined. An approach aimed at using identification technologies based on generalization of capabilities of dynamic models, neural networks (NN), mechanisms for regulating variable computing schemes of structural network components, as well as learning algorithms of the NN is proposed. A generalized algorithm for learning NN based on …

Construction Management
The end goal of this research-based project is to evaluate whether an OSHA-30 integrated lab course would be beneficial to Cal Poly’s Construction Management (CM) program and how it might also benefit the construction industry. The research conducted will be to interpret whether or not there is a need for this type of class to be included into the Construction Management Curriculum. Along with data research, two separate surveys were conducted, one survey taken by the Cal Poly Construction Management student population and the other survey taken by industry professionals. Additionally, a fellow Construction Management student, Mathew Bramlett, is working …

Target Localization And Tracking By Fusing Doppler Differentials From Cellular Emanations With A Multi-Spectral Video Tracker, Casey D. Demars, Michael Roggemann, Adam Webb, Timothy C. Havens
Michigan Tech Publications
We present an algorithm for fusing data from a constellation of RF sensors detecting cellular emanations with the output of a multi-spectral video tracker to localize and track a target with a specific cell phone. The RF sensors measure the Doppler shift caused by the moving cellular emanation and then Doppler differentials between all sensor pairs are calculated. The multi-spectral video tracker uses a Gaussian mixture model to detect foreground targets and SIFT features to track targets through the video sequence. The data is fused by associating the Doppler differential from the RF sensors with the theoretical Doppler differential computed …

Algorithms Of Regular Synthesis Of Adaptive Observer For Linear Stationary System, А.Х Rasulev
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The problems of formation of algorithms for regular synthesis of an adaptive observer for a linear stationary system are considered. Regularized algorithms are provided that allow identification of the parameters and state vector of the controlled object. Retrospective and iterative computational algorithms for simplified regularization are used as a basic regular scheme. The above expressions allow us to realize a stable procedure for estimating unknown parameters and the state of a linear stationary system in the course of its normal functioning.

Increase Of Identification Quality On The Basis Of Genetic Adjustment Of Models Parameters For Description Non-Stationary Objects, A.R Akhatov, N.O Isroilov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
Paper formulated the problem of increasing the quality of identification for casual time series (CTS), representing non-stationary objects in multicontour control systems on the basis of effective search of global and local extremums when parameters of target optimization function are rational. The new approach is offered to optimization of search by consideration statistical and dynamic characteristics of CTS as specimen of population generation, and by reflection of coordinate points set in space of evolution toward optimal values of target function. The modified genetic algorithm (GA) is developed on the basis of overlapping, generalization of opportunities and use of properties of …

Plant Identification Using Tensorflow, Kody G. Dangtongdee
Computer Engineering
Exploring the diverse nature that is available in San Luis Obispo is one of my favorite activities, however, I often am frustrated that I am unable to identify or learn more about the plants that I appreciate. This project is an attempt at using the concepts of neural networks to create an image classifier which can identify plants. Machine learning is one of the biggest topics in computer science at the moment, and its many uses make it a topic that will continue to be researched for a very long time. Convolutional neural networks are a popular realm of machine …

A linear accelerator (linac) is widely used as a means of radiotherapy by focusing high-energy photons in the targeted tumor of patient. Incorrectness of the shooting can lead normal tissue surrounding the tumor received unnecessary radiation and become damaged cells. A method is required to minimize the incorrectness that mostly caused by movement of the patient during radiotherapy process. In this paper, the Wireless Identification and Sensing Platform (WISP) architecture was employed to monitor in real time the movement of the patient's body during radiotherapy process. In general, the WISP is a wearable sensors device that can transmit measurement data …

The electrocardiogram (ECG) signal is the bioelectrical signal that reflects the heart's activity. It has been extensively used as a diagnostic tool since it holds information about the cardiac health condition. However, recent researches have shown that it exhibits an inter-subject variability property. Therefore, it can be used as a biometric-based modality for either identification or verification purposes. Nevertheless, some of the challenges are faced while employing such a signal. For instance, ECG signal is prone to noise, accordingly, noise filters should be designed to remove the noise while keeping the signal properties. Moreover, factors such as medications, health condition, …

An Efficient Recurrent Fuzzy Cmac Model Based On A Dynamic-Group--Based Hybrid Evolutionary Algorithm For Identification And Prediction Applications, Chin-Ling Lee, Chengjian Lin
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
This article presents an efficient TSK-type recurrent fuzzy cerebellar model articulation controller (T-RFCMAC) model based on a dynamic-group--based hybrid evolutionary algorithm (DGHEA) for solving identification and prediction problems. The proposed T-RFCMAC model is based on the traditional CMAC model and the Takagi--Sugeno--Kang (TSK) parametric fuzzy inference system. Otherwise, the recurrent network, which imports feedback links with a receptive field cell, is embedded in the T-RFCMAC model, and the feedback units are used as memory elements. The DGHEA, which is a hybrid of the dynamic-group quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) and the Nelder--Mead method, is proposed for adjusting the parameters of …

"For the last several decades, it has been apparent that new methods of identifying explosives can help investigators trace their origins. One way to identify an explosive is through the use of taggants: materials added to a product that encodes information about the product such as when it was manufactured.
This research investigates the survivability of a new identification taggant called the Nuclear Barcode that overcomes some of the downfalls that have been identified in prior taggants. The Nuclear Barcode encodes information as a unique combination of concentrations of rare earths (Ho, Eu, Sm, Lu, and Dy) and precious metals …
