Numerical Computation Of Hydrodynamic Behavior Of Biomass Particles In Circulating Fluidized Beds, Afsin Gungor Dr. May 2010

Numerical Computation Of Hydrodynamic Behavior Of Biomass Particles In Circulating Fluidized Beds, Afsin Gungor Dr.

The 13th International Conference on Fluidization - New Paradigm in Fluidization Engineering

A model using a particle based approach is developed to accurately predict the hydrodynamic behavior of biomass particles in CFBs. Generally, the change in the pressure gradient with height in CFB riser is small. Numerical results are in good agreement with experiments, both in form and magnitude.

Towards A Theoretical Model Of Segregating Fluidization Of Two-Solid Beds, Bruno Formisani, Rossella Girimonte, Vincenzino Vivacqua May 2010

Towards A Theoretical Model Of Segregating Fluidization Of Two-Solid Beds, Bruno Formisani, Rossella Girimonte, Vincenzino Vivacqua

The 13th International Conference on Fluidization - New Paradigm in Fluidization Engineering

Fluidization of beds of two dissimilar solids is modelled by reworking the fundamental equations of fluidization. The approach followed illustrates the relationship between bed suspension and component segregation, as determined by differences in solid density and size. The need for empirical parameters is drastically reduced so that a unique representation of all types of mixture behaviour seems possible.

Cfd Simulation Of Pharmaceutical Particle Drying In A Bubbling Fluidized Bed Reactor, Jungkee Jang, Cezar Rosa, Hamid Arastoopour May 2010

Cfd Simulation Of Pharmaceutical Particle Drying In A Bubbling Fluidized Bed Reactor, Jungkee Jang, Cezar Rosa, Hamid Arastoopour

The 13th International Conference on Fluidization - New Paradigm in Fluidization Engineering

The bubbling fluidized bed flow regime is characterized by high heat and mass transfer rate and leads to a relatively short drying time. In this study, the gas-solid mixing and drying of pharmaceutical particles in a bubbling fluidized bed reactor was simulated using Computational Fluid Dynamics approach.

Zero-Dimensional Modeling Of Indirect Fluidized Bed Gasification, Anton Larsson, David Pallarés, Daniel Neves, Martin Seemann, Henrik Thunman May 2010

Zero-Dimensional Modeling Of Indirect Fluidized Bed Gasification, Anton Larsson, David Pallarés, Daniel Neves, Martin Seemann, Henrik Thunman

The 13th International Conference on Fluidization - New Paradigm in Fluidization Engineering

Zero-dimensional models has been developed to investigate mass balance and fuel (biomass) Chalmers a 2-4MW indirect fluidized bed gasifier. The result from this work is that more than 95%(Mass) of the tars is converted in the gasifier and that the water gas shift reaction is far from equilibrium.
