Mathematical Modeling Of Fruit Drying And System Analysis Of The Process (On The Example Of Persimmon), Gani Dadayev, Jasur Safarov, Shakhnoza Sultanova, Qobiljon Muxiddinov

Technical science and innovation

Vegetable raw materials, as an object of drying, are characterized by a large amount of water and a low content of dry substances. Vegetable raw materials have a capillary-porous structure. Food products contain both bound and free moisture at the same time. The removal of moisture from the material during drying depends on the total moisture content and the form of connection of moisture with the material. Adsorption and osmotic - bound moisture is retained at the interface of colloidal particles with the environment. Food products contain both bound and free moisture at the same time. The quantitative ratio between …

Adsorption by activated carbon is an effective method of dye removal. However, due to high production and regeneration costs of activated carbon, various studies on low-cost adsorbents have been conducted. Agricultural waste such as rice husk (RH) is seen to be a good adsorbent for dye removal. Moreover, rice husk is readily available. In this study, rice husk-based adsorbents were prepared by chemical and thermal treatments. Standard curve (colour vs absorbance) for Direct Blue 86 (DB 86) was prepared to determine the concentration of dye before and after adsorption. The adsorption potential of the adsorbent for textile dye DB 86 …

Modeling Unimodal/Bimodal Soil-Water Retention Curves Considering The Influence Of Void Ratio Under Capillarity And Adsorption, Zhi-Qiang Lin, Jian-Gu Qian, Zhen-Hao Shi

Rock and Soil Mechanics

The constitutive relationship between suction and degree of saturation is of great significance for estimating the shear strength and deformation behavior of unsaturated soils. A unimodal/bimodal soil-water retention curve (SWRC) is proposed considering the effects of various pore structures and the effects of void ratio on capillarity and adsorption. The different mechanisms of water retention through capillarity and adsorption are explicitly distinguished in the proposed model. The relationship between the capillary degree of saturation and suction is described as a specific function related to the characteristics of pore-size distribution, while the adsorptive degree of saturation is modeled considering the effect …

Makara Journal of Technology

Mismatched timing between the supply and demand of energy calls for reliable storage systems. Energy storage systems have become further significant with the widespread implementation of renewable energy. These systems can mitigate problems that are often associated with renewable energy sources such as supply unreliability while meeting the de-mand during peak hours. Energy can be stored in various forms, yet storage systems can be generally grouped based on their output forms, namely (i) electricity and (ii) heat or thermal energy. Electrical energy is the most convenient and effective form since it can power almost all modern devices. However, the electricity …

Rambling Between "Zhong Yong" And "Catalysis", Zi-Dong Wei Apr 2016

Rambling Between "Zhong Yong" And "Catalysis", Zi-Dong Wei

Journal of Electrochemistry

“Zhong Yong” represents a traditional Chinese wisdom, which was first proposed by Confucius and continuously richened by his followers. “Zhong Yong” pursues the balances among all kinds of contradictions, and insists that neither “too much” nor “not enough” is good. For a successful catalyst, on which the adsorption of reactants must be not so strong and not so weak either. On this point of view, there are the same pursuits for “Zhong Yong” and catalysis. In this paper, the author starts his story with a conversation between Confucius and his student, followed by 3 interesting stories happening in the ancient …

Electrochemical Behavior Of Riboflavin On Glassy Carbon Electrode, Hong Li, Lincai Jiang May 1999

Electrochemical Behavior Of Riboflavin On Glassy Carbon Electrode, Hong Li, Lincai Jiang

Journal of Electrochemistry

The electrochemical behavior of riboflavin(RF) on glassy carbon has been investigated by using potential sweep, rotating ring_disc electrode and the measurement of differential capacitance. It is shown that a single well_behaved oxidation_reduction wave corresponding to a reversible two_electrons reaction apears in medium of pH<6,and the adsorption of RFH2 formed by electro_reduction is weak and hence its solubility is good.In medium of pH>6,there are two separating but overlapping partly oxidation_reduction waves corresponding to two_step one_electron reaction. The adsorptions of RFH and RFH2 produced by reduction reactions in medium of 610,the solubilities of the adsorbed species produced by electro_reduction are good.

OCP hydrolysis was completed within reasonable experimental periods: after 48 hours at 70°C and after 10 days at 37°C in the presence of fluoride. The adsorption isotherms of BSA onto the original OCP …
