Transformerless High-Power Medium-Voltage Multi-Module Pv Converters, Hasan Bayat
Transformerless High-Power Medium-Voltage Multi-Module Pv Converters, Hasan Bayat
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
This thesis is focused on the modular multilevel converter (MMC) for Photovoltaic (PV) applications. It is an attempt to address the issues associated with the modeling, control, and power mismatch elimination of the MMC-based PV systems. Firstly, a new real power reference generation scheme is proposed that creates a linear relationship between the real power reference of the system and the dc link voltage of the submodules. Further, a new power mismatch elimination strategy is proposed for the MMC-based PV system which ensures balanced currents are delivered to the host grid regardless of leg and arm power mismatches. The thesis …
Control System Design, Analysis, And Simulation Of A Photovoltaic Inverter For Unbalanced Load Compensation In A Microgrid, Elizabeth K. Tomaszewski
Control System Design, Analysis, And Simulation Of A Photovoltaic Inverter For Unbalanced Load Compensation In A Microgrid, Elizabeth K. Tomaszewski
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
This thesis presents a control scheme for a single-stage three-phase Photovoltaic (PV) converter with negative sequence load current compensation.
In this thesis a dual virtual impedance active damping technique for an LCL filter is proposed to address the issue of LCL filter resonance. Both inverter-side current and the capacitor current are used in the feedback loop. Using both signals provides higher DC rejection than using capacitor current alone. The proposed active damping scheme results in a faster transient response and higher damping ratio than can be obtained using inverter-side current alone. The feedback gains can be calculated to achieve a …
Experimental Investigation Of Wind Effect On Solar Panels, Ayodeji Abiola-Ogedengbe
Experimental Investigation Of Wind Effect On Solar Panels, Ayodeji Abiola-Ogedengbe
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
Photovoltaic Solar Panels for electricity generation are outdoor low-rise structures that are vulnerable to damage by the wind. The existing building codes do not contain information about the impact of the wind on these structures and hence do not provide comprehensive guidelines to mitigate such impact. The present study is a contribution to the ongoing efforts to codify the wind loading on solar panels. In this study, experimental investigations were conducted on the scaled model of a ground-mounted solar panel structure whose surface is geometrically similar to an inclined flat plate and mounted on three-legged support. The panel comprises of …
Carbon Nitride And Conjugated Polymer Composite Materials, Josh Byers
Carbon Nitride And Conjugated Polymer Composite Materials, Josh Byers
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
The semiconductor and photovoltaic properties of carbon nitride (CNx) thin films prepared using a reactive magnetron sputtering technique were investigated both individually and as composites with the organic conjugated polymers polybithiophene (PBT) and poly(3-hextlthiophene) (P3HT). At low nitrogen content, the film structure was dominated by graphitic sp2 percolation networks, whereas at higher nitrogen contents CNx films started to demonstrate semiconductor properties, as evidenced by the occurrence of photoconductivity and the development of a space charge region. When CNx was deposited onto a PBT substrate, it was found to function as an acceptor material improving the photocurrent generation both in …
Nano Tio2/Graphene Composites For Photovoltaic And Photocatalytic Materials, Nasrin Farhangi
Nano Tio2/Graphene Composites For Photovoltaic And Photocatalytic Materials, Nasrin Farhangi
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
Graphene has been recognized as one of the most exciting carbon based materials of the present decade due to its unique electronic, mechanical and thermal properties. High surface area exfoliated graphene sheets with controllable surface functionality is an attractive two-dimensional surface for attaching different metals and semiconductors for improving the performance of catalysts, sensors, photoelectronic and energy conversion devices. Graphene is an ideal material which can be used for improving various metal oxide properties such as those of titania (TiO2). TiO2/graphene composites have shown excellent properties compared to bare TiO2 in various applications. In high …
