Reflected in-seam wave can be used in one roadway to detect the abnormal geological structures such as faults in some area on both sides of the roadway or in front of tunneling. In this paper, the data and processing method of the reflected in-seam wave were compared based on the 2 different detection areas on side of the roadway and in front of tunneling. In particular, the technical principles, applicable conditions and research progress of three imaging methods of reflected in-seam wave were analyzed and sorted out, including the stack imaging, migration imaging and advance imaging of tunneling face. The construction of Full Face Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) in coal mines is crucial for achieving efficient and modern high-intensity development and mining operations. However, TBM has poor adaptability to adverse geological conditions, such as fracture zones, faults, soft rock layers, and water-rich areas, which can cause problems such as collapses, equipment sticking, and water gushing, hindering their development. To fully utilize the rapid tunneling efficiency of TBM, integrated design between advanced detection instruments and TBM must be performed. Large interpretation errors may exist in exploration areas with obvious conductivity anisotropy when applying tunnel-hole transient electromagnetic method. In this paper, the control equation is built by introducing the conductivity anisotropy tensor, which allows the current density of the rectangular loop source to be added into the Maxwell equation Ampere loop theorem based on the finite difference time domain (FDTD) algorithm in order to realize the loading of any current source. A new transmitter device-conical source has been proved theoretically to have several advantages for transient electromagnetic sounding. To verify application ability of conical source, two kinds of transmitter devices were designed and made, and the experimental studies on surface and in mine roadway were carried out. By applying high density resistivity achievements in surface experiment, the detecting results using conical source and multi-coils were compared. The results show that the description of strata resistivity with conical source is better than that with multi-coils. The borehole geophysical prospecting method is a research hotspot in recent years. Considering that the down-hole transient electromagnetic method used in metal mines has the characteristics of long radial detection distance and less susceptible to surface electromagnetic interference, it is applied to the exploration of water-filled goaf in coal mines. Three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) algorithm is used to simulate the total field response and abnormal response of the goaf model with different orientations of boreholes. In order to detect the geological structures in the front of the working face 1199 in Gequan mine of Xingtai mining area, underground channel wave seismic exploration was used to conduct advanced detection, linear Radon transform was used to extract the reflection wave from the front of the roadway, parameter information of the surrounding rocks were obtained through velocity analysis in time domain, The abnormal geological bodies in the front of the roadway were imaged through Kirchhoff migration.
