The purpose of this paper is to investigate the process of aminolysis of secondary polyethylene terephthalate with monoethanolamine at low ratio. The effect of the amount of monoethanolamine on the physical and chemical properties of the aminolysis product of secondary polyethylene terephthalate was studied. With an increase of 1-4 moles of monoethanolamine obtained for synthesis (without the presence of a catalyst), it was observed that the number of amines in the aminolysis product increased from 324 to 503 mgKON/g, and the number of hydroxyls increased from 298 to 491 mgKON/g. As a result of the research on the utilization of polyethylene terephthalate-containing household waste, a promising direction was identified in the production of a new type of secondary polyethylene terephthalate (SPET) - unsaturated polyesters.It was revealed that the final product, which formed when the alcoholization process is complete in any proportion of of glycol and secondary polyethylene terephthalate, is the bisalkylent terephthalate of terephthalic acid; the content of the alcoholysis product consists of bisalkylent terephthalate, different molecule mass, functionally hydroxyl-containing complex polyester polyol and free diols.

The paper presents the results of a study of the process of alcoholysis of secondary polyethylene terephthalate ethylene glycol (EG). The main attention is paid to determining the optimal conditions for the formation of bis-hydroxy ethylene terephthalate, since this product is an intermediate in the production of polyethylene terephthalate. At the same time, the effects of the duration of alcoholysis, the type and amount of catalyst on the yield of bis-hydroxy ethylene terephthalate (ratio of PET: EG = 1 mol elementary link 4 mol) were studied.
