The increased energy usage in buildings and infrastructure indicates that alternate means must be adopted to improve efficiency, conserve energy, and to operate the buildings with sustainable means. The energy demands must be reduced to develop energy efficient buildings for the future, without compromising the thermal and visual comfort level and performance of the building. For the buildings, energy efficiency can be achieved by using appliances of less wattage, improved architectural technique, and modified construction methodology.
