This project focused on the introduction of liquid smoke and bio briquette manufacturing technology to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) located in Bohol Village, Gunungkidul, Indonesia through technology transfer, training, and mentoring. These SMEs are engaged in the food business with the main product jenang ketan, a traditional food from Gunungkidul, especially in Rongkop District, and very popular among communities around and outside Gunungkidul. The traditional preparation of jenang ketan produces several by-products in the form of waste, which is dominated by coconut shell biomass. The project’s technology transfer was carried out through the procurement of a series of pyrolysis …

Nowadays 35-40 % of all the drilling works, performed on mining and geological exploration enterprises, are made by air bottom hole cleaning, and the rest 60-65 % are made by flushing liquids on water base. Air drilling and bottom hole cleaning due to low heat conductivity of air generates high temperature at a borehole bottom thus negatively affecting the efficiency of rock destruction tool; while drilling with water based flushing fluids causes efficiency reduction of rock destruction tool due to formation of slurry mode at a borehole bottom. This paper presents the results of the study of the factors negatively …

Preparation Of Azomethine Derivatives (Schif Bases) Chitosan Apis Mellifera, A S. Mengliev, G A. Ikhtiyarova
Technical science and innovation
Chitin and chitosan should be considered as derivatives of cellulose. The basis for such an approach to these polysaccharides is their chemical structure. The macromolecular chains of these polymers are formed by glucopyranose cycles, which, being connected by β- (1→4) glucosidic bonds, form linear polymer chains. The biological functions and mechanical properties of these polysaccharides are largely determined by the conformation of macromolecules and the distribution of reactive groups in them. Due to the unique properties of chitin and chitosan, they are becoming increasingly important in the practical and especially in the medical and biological activities of mankind. The aim …

An autonomous hybrid power system is an intelligent power installation that provides electricity to isolated consumers without being connected to the power grid. The introduction of autonomous hybrid power systems in the oil and gas industry is considered as an option to improve energy and environmental security. As a rule, oil and gas fields are located remotely and off the grid, and therefore electricity is generated using diesel generators. This article discusses the possibility of reducing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere by using an autonomous hybrid installation as a source of electrical energy.

In 2025, Indonesia has launched a zero-waste program. Towards a zero-waste program, of course, the community is given awareness in sorting and processing waste. Waste management is a common problem in urban or rural areas, along with the increase in population and people's lifestyles. Waste problems that are not handled properly can cause environmental problems (pollution of air, soil, and water) and public health. Based on the origin, waste is divided into organic and inorganic waste; organic waste is produced from biological materials that can be degraded by microbes or are biodegradable, or waste from fruit, vegetable, and leaf residues. …

Previous research has proven that the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) can increase the efficiency of human work. However, the design of the usefulness of UAV is considered to be limited. This limitation, for example, is that the UAV's lifting capacity is only capable of lifting 3-5 kilograms of load on average. In addition, the main material of the UAV frame also uses carbon fiber produced by build-up factories abroad, this makes the UAV design less economical. Furthermore, this study discusses the development of the UAV's lifting capacity of 25 kilograms to be able to lift the pesticide liquid …

Renewable energy is one of the options to meet the increasing energy needs. As a tropical country, Indonesia has great potential for solar energy development. At this time, solar panels have been built in places exposed to direct light. However, monitoring solar panels is still performed manually using a multimeter by operators or field officers, so it cannot be performed in real-time. Real-time tracking is carried out to prevent damage and decreased performance of solar panels. Hence, we designed a real-time solar panel monitoring system based Internet of Things (IoT) using the Blynk application on a smartphone. Based on the …

Effect Of Hot Weather Concreting On The Mechanical And Durability Properties Of Concrete-A Review, Rawan Ramadan, Hassan Ghanem, Jamal Khatib, Adel Elkordi
BAU Journal - Science and Technology
Nowadays, hot weather is an essential motivator that leads concrete to lose its special characteristics. The high loss of moisture by evaporation and rapid hardening encourage the cracking potential and placement operations. The fresh mixed and hardened concrete tend to be damaged due to several conditions such as: high concrete temperature, High ambient temperature, low relative humidity, and high wind speed. These circumstances accelerate the rate of moisture loss and cement hydration. This article briefly reviews hot weather concreting problems precautions, and curing methods and also discusses the role of incorporation SCMs in reducing the temperature of concrete and enhancing …
