Multiple reflections on navy ship equipment cause unexpectedly high radar cross-section (RCS) distributions based on the location of each equipment on the ship. No RCS reduction method has been considered to date because the directions of reradiated electromagnetic waves are difficult to predict. In this study, an equipment arrangement design system for navy ships was developed to minimize RCS to reduce the radar detection range of naval ships by the enemy. To minimize the possibility of operating range interferences among equipment, optimal equipment arrangement areas and operation ranges were determined with reference to real navy ships.
