The recent outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused lock downs around the globe, forcing many schools and businesses to temporarily close. For them to reopen safely, it is imperative to identify cases quickly so that individuals can be quarantined before the virus spreads to more people. An alternative to testing is to screen individuals for high temperatures that would indicate fevers. With the risk of contagion that occurs during close contact between humans, traditional thermometers may be unsuitable.
