An Example Of Calculating The Speed Of The Railway Carriage On The Accelerating Slope Of The Hump, Shukhrat Batirovich Djabbarov Mar 2020

An Example Of Calculating The Speed Of The Railway Carriage On The Accelerating Slope Of The Hump, Shukhrat Batirovich Djabbarov

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

The paper content is based on classic provisions of mechanics (D’Alembert principle) for non-ideal communication. The authors provide with the analytical proof of that the linear acceleration of the car when it is uniformly accelerated along the descending part of the hump depends on the force that affects the car to roll down the slope of the hump, on the force of resistance of all kinds, on the adjusted weight of the car with load taking into account the moment of flywheel action. At the same time, the results of calculations prove that the rotating parts weight practically does not …

To The Calculation Of Solid-State Cargo Attachment Under The Influence Of Longitudinal Forces, Khabibulla Turanov, Yadgor Ruzmetov, Jamol Shihnazarov

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

The article is devoted to the calculation of cargo fastening using the current method. It is proved that according to the existing method, the force in all elastic cargo mounts of both one and the other direction under the influence of longitudinal forces has the same value, regardless of the different location of the geometric parameters of the mounts in space. Calculations of forces in elastic elements of fastening by the specified method are given. The results of the comparative analysis showed that the forces in all wire fasteners, in contrast to the existing method of calculation, have different values. …

Plots Of Pojected Sorting Selection Hill’S The Uncertainty In The Formulas Of The Peak Constructive And Technological, Shuxrat Umarxodjayevich Saidivaliev

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

In the article, on the basis of theorems on the change of kinetic energy for a non-free material point in the final form of theoretical mechanics, formulas for determining the braking path of the car in the braking zone of the sorting hill are derived. With a known value of the acceleration during the braking of the car the path of the car braking section can also be determined by the formula of the path of elementary physics. In the article on the basis of the theorem on the change of kinetic energy for a non-free material point in the …

Bakken Crude Oil And The Changing Logistics Of The American Oil Industry, Austin Rau Jan 2016

Bakken Crude Oil And The Changing Logistics Of The American Oil Industry, Austin Rau

Independent Research

The extraction of Bakken crude oil in the Williston Basin of North Dakota is transforming how petroleum is shipped. Before 2008, North American oil was carried primarily via pipeline from source regions to refineries along the Gulf Coast or to metropolitan areas close to consumers. The current pipeline system is ill-equipped to accommodate massive volumes of oil from this previously low producing region. Lack of infrastructure and high demand for “light tight oil” (LTO) led to the use of railroads as a means of moving the product to refineries across the nation. Transporting oil via rail over long distances was …

Recommendations For Kytc’S Railway/Highway At-Grade Crossing Surface Management Practices, Brett R. Malloy, Jerry G. Rose, Macy L. Purcell

Kentucky Transportation Center Research Report

An ideal Railway/Highway At-Grade Crossing Management program involves selecting costeffective practices when designing new crossings and rehabilitating existing crossings. This report outlines two strategies to enhance KYTC’s existing program. First, it describes a process that uses decision-option diagrams to optimize the assessment and implementation of engineering solutions in order to restore desired smoothness, minimize settlement in the postconstruction phase, and foster acceptable long-term performance of crossings following their rehabilitation. Decision-option diagrams rely on assessments that are site-specific and based on historical performance, the present observed performance and condition, and the measureable parameters specific to particular crossings. To supplement this process, …
