Real-Time Scheduling Method For Railway Passenger Station Operations Based On Digital Twin, Bisheng He, Peng Chen, Hongxiang Zhang, Gongyuan Lu, Chunhui Zhang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: To improve the operation scheduling of railway passenger stations and reduce the train delays, digital twin technology is used to establish a railway passenger station operation model. Through real-time data acquisition, based on the operation time prediction of random forest method, operation simulation and decision-making, a real-time scheduling method of railway passenger station operations based on digital twin is proposed, and applied in a real railway passenger station. The experimental results show that the method can effectively forecast and simulate the actual operation. Three kinds of digital twin scheduling rules have been used, which can reduce the delay time …

Job Shop Rescheduling Under Recessive Disturbance Based On Digital Twin, Dinghui Wu, Tongrui Zhang, Xiuli Zhang Mar 2022

Job Shop Rescheduling Under Recessive Disturbance Based On Digital Twin, Dinghui Wu, Tongrui Zhang, Xiuli Zhang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: A new shop rescheduling model driven by digital twin is proposed to solve the problems of disturbance cumulative rescheduling. A scheduling parameter updating method is proposed and a random probability distribution is used to describe the distribution of scheduling parameters to improve the accuracy of scheduling parameters. An implicit disturbance detection model is built based on Siamese Network using real-time data as input to realize the start time of rescheduling. The sample data for scheduling knowledge mining are extracted from the historical scheduling scenarios. Through the Pseudo-Siamese CNN, the mapping relationship between the Process state and machine state is …

Research On Digital Twin-Based Modeling And Monitoring Of Five-Axis Grinder, Xiao Tong, Haifan Jiang, Guofu Ding, Jiang Lei, Shuwen Ma

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Aiming at the poor virtual-real interaction ability, single data presentation mode, and hysteretic abnormality handling in CNC machine tool status monitoring, a visual monitoring method for machine tool process based on digital twin is proposed, Which realizes the mapping of three subsystems of machine tool, machinery, control and electrical to the information space from three dimensions of geometry, logic and data. The verification of instructions and CNC programs, real-time status monitoring and abnormality handling during operation are carried out. A digital twin-based machine tool modeling and monitoring system is designed and developed. Taking a five-axis CNC …

Maintenance Optimization In A Digital Twin For Industry 4.0, Abhijit Gosavi, Vy Khoi Le Jan 2022

Maintenance Optimization In A Digital Twin For Industry 4.0, Abhijit Gosavi, Vy Khoi Le

Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works

The advent of Internet of Things and artificial intelligence in the era of Industry 4.0 has transformed decision-making within production systems. In particular, many decisions that previously required significant human activity are now made automatically with minimal human intervention via so-called digital twins (DTs). In the context of maintenance and reliability modeling, this naturally calls for new paradigms that can be seamlessly integrated within DTs for decision-making. The input data for time to failure needed in reliability computations are directly collected from the work center in a digital setting and often do not satisfy a known distribution. A neural network …

Creating a more sustainable world will require a coordinated effort to address the rise of social, economic, and environmental concerns resulting from the continuous growth of cities. Supporting planners with tools to address them is pivotal, and sustainability is one of the main objectives. Modeling and simulation augmenting digital twins can play an important role to implement these tools. Although various green best practices have been utilized over time and there are related attempts at measuring green success, works in the published literature tend to focus on addressing a single problem (e.g., energy efficiency), and a comprehensive approach that takes …

Framework For The Evaluation Of Perturbations In The Systems Biology Landscape And Inter-Sample Similarity From Transcriptomic Datasets — A Digital Twin Perspective, Mariah Marie Hoffman Jan 2022

Dissertations and Theses

One approach to interrogating the complexities of human systems in their well-regulated and dysregulated states is through the use of digital twins. Digital twins are virtual representations of physical systems that are descriptive of an individual's state of health, an object fundamentally related to precision medicine. A key element for building a functional digital twin type for a disease or predicting the therapeutic efficacy of a potential treatment is harmonized, machine-parsable domain knowledge. Hypothesis-driven investigations are the gold standard for representing subsystems, but their results encompass a limited knowledge of the full biosystem. Multi-omics data is one rich source of …

Towards A Digital Twin For Characterising Natural Source Zone Depletion: A Feasibility Study Based On The Bemidji Site, Kaveh Sookhak Lari, Greg B. Davis, John L. Rayner

Research outputs 2022 to 2026

Natural source zone depletion (NSZD) of light non-aqueous phase liquids (LNAPLs) may be a valid long-term management option at petroleum impacted sites. However, its future long-term reliability needs to be established. NSZD includes partitioning, biotic and abiotic degradation of LNAPL components plus multiphase fluid dynamics in the subsurface. Over time, LNAPL components are depleted and those partitioning to various phases change, as do those available for biodegradation. To accommodate these processes and predict trends and NSZD over decades to centuries, for the first time, we incorporated a multi-phase multi-component multi-microbe non-isothermal approach to representatively simulate NSZD at field scale. To …
