Ex-Ante Cost-Benefit Analysis Of High-End And Low-Cost Wireless Sensor Network (Wsn) Technology Packages For Efficient Irrigation Water Management In The Philippines, Marielle Q. Aringo, Victor B. Ella, Camille G. Martinez, Gamiello S. Pereira

Journal of Economics, Management and Agricultural Development

Four wireless sensor network (WSN) technology packages developed for efficient irrigation water management in the Philippines were subjected to ex-ante cost-benefit analysis (CBA) to assess their financial viability. The WSN technologies include high-end and low-cost wireless sensors for upland crop production with drip irrigation system and lowland crop production with alternate wetting and drying (AWD). Results showed that the high-end WSN technology packages are only viable for high-value crops such as red onion, bell pepper, and hot pepper. The low-cost WSN technology packages are viable for all selected crops except sweet corn. Minimum areas were also generated for each crop …

Building A Surrogate Model Of A Perfect Electric Conductor Using Polynomial Chaos Expansion And The Characteristic Mode Analysis, Adem Yilmaz, Hulusi̇ Açikgöz, Alaaldeen Barakat Ahmed Elrouby

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

A surrogate model for a perfect electric conductor plate is built by using the polynomial chaos expansion method. The plate is excited via four capacitive coupling elements for which the locations are determined by the analysis of the current distribution for each mode provided by the characteristic mode analysis. A numerical model based on the method of moments is then created to generate a database needed to build the surrogate model. Radiation patterns calculated by the surrogate model are compared with those given by the numerical model. The results show that the surrogate model can mimic the numerical model and …

Research On The Number Of Passengers On The Platform Of Rail Transit Station Considering Congestion Propagation, Wei Chen, Zongping Li, Can Liu, Yanni Ju Jul 2022

Research On The Number Of Passengers On The Platform Of Rail Transit Station Considering Congestion Propagation, Wei Chen, Zongping Li, Can Liu, Yanni Ju

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: It is the basis of improving the safety guarantee ability of urban rail transit system to study and master the change law of the number of passengers in the urban rail transit station under the condition of Congestion Propagation. From the point of view of multi subsystem of passenger, station and train, combined with the multi-attribute characteristics of passenger flow, platform and train, the calculation model of the number of passengers in urban rail transit station is established based on system dynamics. A multi group sensitivity simulation experiment is designed to analyze the influence factors of the number of …

Determining Allowable Parametric Uncertainty In An Uncommon Quadrotormodel For Closed Loop Stability, Mehmet Baskin, Mehmet Kemal Leblebi̇ci̇oğlu Mar 2022

Determining Allowable Parametric Uncertainty In An Uncommon Quadrotormodel For Closed Loop Stability, Mehmet Baskin, Mehmet Kemal Leblebi̇ci̇oğlu

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

In this article, control oriented uncertainty modeling of an uncommon quadrotor in hover is discussed. This quadrotor consists of two counter-rotating big rotors on longitudinal axis and two counter-rotating small tilt rotors on lateral axis. Firstly, approximate linear model of this vehicle around hover is obtained by using Newton--Euler formulation. Secondly, specific uncertainty is assigned to each parameter. Resulting uncertain model is converted into a linear fractional transformation framework for robustness analysis. Next, the most critical uncertain parameters in terms of robust stability in a proposed quadrotor model are investigated using $ \mu $ sensitivities. Finally, skewed-$ \mu $ analysis …

Research On Detection Data Driven Calibration Method Of Traffic Simulation Parameters, Wenxin Ma, Ruimin Li Jan 2022

Research On Detection Data Driven Calibration Method Of Traffic Simulation Parameters, Wenxin Ma, Ruimin Li

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: To improve the accuracy of traffic simulation model and timely response of traffic demand and driving behavior changes, dynamic calibration method of simulation parameters based on detection data is proposed. Dynamic interaction between detection data and simulation platform is proposed. Intersection of Guanghua Road/Jintong East Road in Beijing and five consecutive intersections on Youyi Street in Baotou are Selected as study cases. Sensitivity analysis is conducted on initial parameter combinations. Based on the analysis results, parameters to be calibrated are selected. Models of cases are developed in VISSIM and driving behavior parameters are calibrated. Simulation results show that …
