Models For Data Analysis In Accelerated Reliability Growth, Cesar Alexander Ruiz Torres Jul 2020

Models For Data Analysis In Accelerated Reliability Growth, Cesar Alexander Ruiz Torres

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

This work develops new methodologies for analyzing accelerated testing data in the context of a reliability growth program for a complex multi-component system. Each component has multiple failure modes and the growth program consists of multiple test-fix stages with corrective actions applied at the end of each stage. The first group of methods considers time-to-failure data and test covariates for predicting the final reliability of the system. The time-to-failure of each failure mode is assumed to follow a Weibull distribution with rate parameter proportional to an acceleration factor. Acceleration factors are specific to each failure mode and test covariates. We …

Optimal Allocation Of Resources In Reliability Growth, Mohammadhossein Heydari May 2018

Optimal Allocation Of Resources In Reliability Growth, Mohammadhossein Heydari

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Reliability growth testing seeks to identify and remove failure modes in order to improve system reliability. This dissertation centers around the resource allocation across the components of a multi-component system to maximize system reliability. We summarize this dissertation’s contributions to optimal resource allocation in reliability growth.

Chapter 2 seeks to deploy limited testing resources across the components of a series-parallel system in effort to maximize system reliability under the assumption that each component’s reliability exhibits growth according to an AMSAA model with known parameters. An optimization model for this problem is developed and then extended to consider the allocation of …

Multistage Accelerated Reliability Growth Testing Model And Data Analysis, Leiying Jiang Aug 2014

Multistage Accelerated Reliability Growth Testing Model And Data Analysis, Leiying Jiang

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Accelerated reliability growth testing has recently received a renewed interest in reliability engineering. The concepts of accelerated testing and reliability growth individually have been used in a variety of applications, either for hardware systems or software systems. The advantage of using a combined strategy is that it could shorten the testing time while maximizing the reliability. In the literature, there are many references related to optimal test design for reliability from either a component level or a system level. In this research, we suggest an approach which conducts accelerated testing at the component level while supporting estimates of reliability at …
