The healthcare industry is so complex and dynamic that the development of any tool designed to promote positive patient outcomes nearly requires the developer to be an actual healthcare practitioner. Many healthcare tools exists that initially give the perception that there will be no future requirements that may hinder the tools' integrity, but more often than not, the unexpected occurs.
