This study aims to investigate the feasibility of using D-Mannitol as a phase-change material (PCM) to increase the energy storage capacity and improve the thermomechanical characteristics of the modified bitumen. D-mannitol (Dm) was incorporated into Bitumen (Bm) using a high-speed shearing method. The results showed that the integration of PCM enhanced the physical characteristics of the basic bitumen, with the modified bitumen having a melting point close to that of D-mannitol (Tm = 164 °C).
