Application Of Winslamm To Evaluate The Effect Of Green Infrastructure Implementation In Northern Utah, Rosa A. Fernández Velásquez Dec 2018

Application Of Winslamm To Evaluate The Effect Of Green Infrastructure Implementation In Northern Utah, Rosa A. Fernández Velásquez

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

This study provides an evaluation of the performance of the WinSLAMM model in two cities of northern Utah, a region in which it has not been validated to date. Runoff volumes for a series of events from 2015 to 2017 were calculated for six study areas. These results were compared to model outputs to evaluate the prediction accuracy. The model performed poorly when default parameters where used, as expected. Thus, the calibration of runoff coefficient was done with local data. Total suspended solids (TSS), total phosphorus (TP) and total dissolved phosphorus (TDP) were also evaluated and calibrations were developed. The …

Hydrology And Phosphorus Model For Agricultural Watershed: Swat Simulation Of Discharge And Nutrient Flux In The Medway Creek Watershed, Omar El Abusanina Mar 2018

Hydrology And Phosphorus Model For Agricultural Watershed: Swat Simulation Of Discharge And Nutrient Flux In The Medway Creek Watershed, Omar El Abusanina

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

High nutrient concentrations in surface water have been a serious concern that impacts water quality and ecology. High Phosphorus levels in Medway Creek indicate the presence of a pollution source in the watershed that needs to be identified and quantified. To investigate this issue, the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) program has been used in this study with the Geographic Information System (GIS) to model the Medway Creek watershed and assess stream flow and nutrient flux. In this research, the SWAT model has been built, calibrated, and validated using two independent observed data sets to evaluate the SWAT efficiency …

Evaluation Of The Accuracy Of Machine Reported Can Data For Engine Torque And Speed (J1939), Rodney A. Rohrer, Joe D. Luck, Santosh K. Pitla, Roger M. Hoy Jan 2018

Department of Biological Systems Engineering: Papers and Publications

Most modern off-road machinery use embedded electronic controllers connected to a controller area network (CAN) to broadcast machine information for on-board processes and diagnostics. Commercially available tools can record CAN data for a variety of research and commercial uses. For agricultural tractors, there is an opportunity to create advanced test procedures that are more representative of field operations and that could supplement existing machine performance tests, such as the OECD Code 2 Standard Code for the Official Testing of Agricultural and Forestry Tractor Performance. CAN parameters provide an efficient way to collect tractor performance data during field operations. However, the …
