Permanent magnet synchronous machines are becoming attractive in many industrial applications due to their high torque to inertia ratio, higher efficiency , and power density . Interest in Multi-phase motor drives has considerably increased during last few years. The main applications of multi-phase machines are in electric traction, electric vehicles, and hybrid vehicles. Electric power is essential to the functioning of U.S. society. The electric power system increasingly operates at or near its reliability limits. The geographic scale of the tightly coupled networks involved makes the system susceptible to large-scale outages. More frequent natural and accidental failures portend possible catastrophes from intentional disruption. Deregulation has been a major factor to the lack of investment in system upgrades. Techniques to prevent attacks and reduce vulnerabilities are available and affordable.

Since the nuclear weapon atmospheric test days of the 1950s, it has been known that a single nuclear weapon detonated at altitudes from about 30-500 kilometers generates a strong electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that can disrupt electronic systems on the ground at large distances. During the Cold War, the effects of high altitude nuclear detonations were considered by many to be ephemeral, second order effects in comparison to direct blast/thermal/radiation effects from near-surface bursts in the context of mutually-assured-destruction (or MAD) scenarios. L’objectif de ce travail est l’optimisation du régime de fonctionnement des moteurs asynchrones lorsqu’ils sont sou chargés en minimisant le courant statorique absorbé en régime établit. La minimisation du courant statorique est obtenue en faisant varier la tension d’alimentation. Nous avons initialement procédé à la description et à la modélisation du moteur asynchrone, et à partir d’un schéma équivalent du moteur nous avons établit la relation liant le courant statorique minimal à la tension qui lui correspond. In this paper, a novel type of auxiliary switched capacitor assisted edge resonant soft switching PWM resonant DC-DC Converter with two simple auxiliary commutation lossless inductor snubbers. The operation principle of this converter is described using the switching mode equivalent circuits. This newly developed multi resonant DC-DC Converter can regulate its dc output AC power under a principle of constant frequency edge-resonant soft switching commutation by asymmetrical PWM duty cycle control scheme. The high frequency power regulation and actual power characteristics of the proposed soft switching PWM resonant DC-DC Converter are evaluated and discussed. The operating performances of the newly …
