Face Detection–Based Ergonomic Computer Workstation, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, Angelo A. Beltran Jr, Erick Powell S. Baldivicio, Kathleen Zillah G. Espere, Jhalysa Mae R. Maminta, Kimberly D. Villostas

Innovative Research Publications IRP India

This paper presents a approach on how to reduce stress and fatigability in the user’s eyes, muscles and also backbone when the user is using a computer. The study uses image processing technique for the detection of the face of the user. The monitor of the desktop computer is connected with a DC motor that will auto align itself to the face of the user in order to make sure it is in front of the user’s face. If the user moves its head sideward the monitor will align and this will help the user to have movements of the …

Improved Microrobotic Control Through Image Processing And Automated Hardware Interfacing, Archit R. Aggarwal, Wuming Jing, David J. Cappelleri

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Symposium

Untethered submilliliter-sized robots (microrobots) are showing potential use in different industrial, manufacturing and medical applications. A particular type of these microrobots, magnetic robots, have shown improved performance in power and control capabilities compared to the other thermal and electrostatic based robots. However, the magnetic robot designs have not been assessed in a robust manner to understand the degree of control in different environments and their application feasibility. This research project seeks to develop a custom control software interface to provide a holistic tool for researchers to evaluate the microrobotic performance through advance control features. The software deliverable involved two main …

Atrengine: An Orientation-Based Algorithm For Automatic Target Recognition, Justin Ting-Jeuan Kuo Jun 2014

Atrengine: An Orientation-Based Algorithm For Automatic Target Recognition, Justin Ting-Jeuan Kuo

Master's Theses

Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) is a subject involving the use of sensor data to develop an algorithm for identifying targets of significance. It is of particular interest in military applications such as unmanned aerial vehicles and missile tracking systems. This thesis develops an orientation-based classification approach from previous ATR algorithms for 2-D Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. Prior work in ATR includes Chessa Guilas’ Hausdorff Probabilistic Feature Analysis Approach in 2005 and Daniel Cary’s Optimal Rectangular Fit in 2007.

A system incorporating multiple modules performing different tasks is developed to streamline the data processing of previous algorithms. Using images from …
