This research aims to investigate whether the law as it currently stands in Oman provides adequate legal protection for personal data, to determine the current obstacles facing the electronic commerce sector, and to identify ways of overcoming such challenges. The empirical focus of this study will be electronic commerce transactions between companies and consumers. In this regard, the research will explore the perceptions of the main stakeholders towards privacy regulation and what implications these have for the growth of electronic commerce in Oman.
