Studying Routing Issues In Vanets Using Ns-3 And Sumo, Mohammad Mahmoud Abdellatif, Omar E. Aly Sep 2022

Studying Routing Issues In Vanets Using Ns-3 And Sumo, Mohammad Mahmoud Abdellatif, Omar E. Aly

Electrical Engineering

ehicular Ad-hoc Networks VANETs are normally sparse, highly dense, and highly mobile with many different and ever-changing topologies. These characteristics impose a challenge on finding a routing algorithm that fits the requirements of such network. The aim of this work is to study the performance issues of VANETs under different scenarios using realistic mobility models. In this paper, a comparative study is done among Ad-hoc On- Demand Distance Vector (AODV), Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) and position-based routing protocols, namely Greedy Perimeter stateless routing (GPSR), and Max duration Min angle GPSR (MMGPSR). The comparison is done using key quality of …

A Stochastic Spectrum Trading And Resource Allocation Framework For Opportunistic Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks, Mohamed Abdelraheem, Mohammad Mahmoud Abdellatif Jul 2022

A Stochastic Spectrum Trading And Resource Allocation Framework For Opportunistic Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks, Mohamed Abdelraheem, Mohammad Mahmoud Abdellatif

Electrical Engineering

In this article, the spectrum trading problem between primary users and secondary networks is investigated. The secondary network requests multiple channels with the targeted availability to satisfy its users’ demands. Due to the uncertainty about the channels availability, stochastic optimization techniques are adopted to find the optimal set of channels for each secondary network for the lowest cost. Two different constraints on the secondary demand are defined. The first one is when the throughput has to be fully satisfied for a certain percentage of time, and the second one is when the expected value of the throughput has to exceed …

Facile One-Step Hydrothermal Method For Nico2s4/Rgo Nanocomposite Synthesis For Efficient Hybrid Supercapacitor Electrodes, Ahmed Mysara, Sayed Y. Attia, Fouad I. El-Hosiny, M A. Sadek, Saad G. Mohamed, M M. Rashad Feb 2022

Facile One-Step Hydrothermal Method For Nico2s4/Rgo Nanocomposite Synthesis For Efficient Hybrid Supercapacitor Electrodes, Ahmed Mysara, Sayed Y. Attia, Fouad I. El-Hosiny, M A. Sadek, Saad G. Mohamed, M M. Rashad

Nanotechnology Research Centre

Spinel nickel-cobalt sulfide (NiCo2S4) supported on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was fabricated through a facile one-step hydrothermal method for energy storage applications. The distribution of the NiCo2S4 nanoparticles on the rGO surface was found to improve the supercapacitive performance of the assembled device. The NiCo2S4/rGO nanocomposite exhibits outstanding electrochemical behavior with a capacity (C)/specific capacitance (Cs) of 536 C g−1/1072 F g−1 at a current density of 1 A g−1. To further investigate the electrochemical behavior of the NiCo2S4/rGO nanocomposite, a hybrid supercapacitor (HSC) was constructed utilizing a NiCo2S4/rGO positive electrode and an activated carbon …

Honey Badger Optimizer For Extracting The Ungiven Parameters Of Pemfc Model: Steady-State Assessment, Hossam Ashraf, Sameh Osama Abdellatif Dr, Mahmoud Elkoly Dr, Attia Elfergany Prof Jan 2022

Honey Badger Optimizer For Extracting The Ungiven Parameters Of Pemfc Model: Steady-State Assessment, Hossam Ashraf, Sameh Osama Abdellatif Dr, Mahmoud Elkoly Dr, Attia Elfergany Prof

Electrical Engineering

In this work, a novel attempt is performed to optimally identify the seven ungiven parameters of the proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) steady-state model. A fitness function is adapted to reduce the sum of quadratic errors (SQEs) between the experimentally measured voltages and the corresponding computed values. A honey badger optimizer (HBO) is utilized to minimize the SQEs, exposed to a group of inequality bounds. Three test cases of well-known commercial PEMFCs units as benchmarking are elucidated and discussed over different steady-state operating conditions. Substantial comparisons to the other up-to-date optimizers published in the art-of-literature are provided to appraise …

Synergy Of Neuro-Fuzzy Controller And Tuna Swarm Algorithm For Maximizing The Overall Efficiency Of Pem Fuel Cells Stack Including Dynamic Performance, Hossam Ashraf, Mahmoud M. Elkholy Prof, Sameh O. Abdellatif, Attia A. El-Fergany Prof Jan 2022

Synergy Of Neuro-Fuzzy Controller And Tuna Swarm Algorithm For Maximizing The Overall Efficiency Of Pem Fuel Cells Stack Including Dynamic Performance, Hossam Ashraf, Mahmoud M. Elkholy Prof, Sameh O. Abdellatif, Attia A. El-Fergany Prof

Electrical Engineering

Recently, world endeavors are focused on promoting energy savings by operating both sources and loads at their maximum efficiency points. Thus, this paper presents a novel attempt to optimally determine the operating parameters of an isolated system comprising the proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) stack serving a variable load. A fitness function is adapted to maximize the PEMFCs stack’s efficiency using tuna swarm algorithm (TSA), subjected to set of inequality constraints. A well-known commercial type of PEMFCs stack namely Nedstack PS6 6 kW, are carefully studied over two TSA-based optimization scenarios. The first scenario aims at optimizing five operating …

Investigating The Capacitive Properties Of All-Inorganic Lead Halides Perovskite Solar Cells Using Energy Band Diagrams, Zahraa Ismail, Eman Farouk Sawires, Fathy Zaki Amer, Sameh Osama Abdellatif Dr Jan 2022

Investigating The Capacitive Properties Of All-Inorganic Lead Halides Perovskite Solar Cells Using Energy Band Diagrams, Zahraa Ismail, Eman Farouk Sawires, Fathy Zaki Amer, Sameh Osama Abdellatif Dr

Electrical Engineering

Capacitance response of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) can be oppressed to deduce underlying physical mechanisms, both in the materials at external interfaces and in bulk materials. Accordingly, this paper investigates the Capacitance-Voltage (C-V) characteristic curves of cesium lead halides (CsPbX3: X = I, Br, or Cl) used as an active layer in PSCs. The SCAPS-1D simulator was used to harness the actual device (CsPbX3: X = I Br, or Cl) with material parameters from previous experimental work. The energy-band diagrams, J-V curves, and C-V curves of the three PSC structures were constructed and compared to carry out and investigate their …

Accordingly, this paper investigates the Capacitance-Voltage (C-V) characteristic curves of cesium lead halides (CsPbX3: X = I, Br, or Cl) used as an active layer in PSCs. The SCAPS-1D simulator harnessed the actual device (CsPbX3: X = I Br, or Cl) with material parameters from previous experimental work. Three main simulation parameters were investigated: the thickness of the active layer, the doping, and the defects impacts.
