Cnt Metamaterial Fabrication 3d Printing Mask Process, Jose J. Rivero Iii Nov 2022

Cnt Metamaterial Fabrication 3d Printing Mask Process, Jose J. Rivero Iii

2022 MME Undergraduate Research Symposium

The demand for clean energy is rising with the global population. Renewable energy sources, such as solar, will play a key role in the years ahead. Solar energy has a key problem with energy storage as the energy produced during peak solar hours must be used immediately or stored. Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) have unique electrostatic properties, similar to metals, capable of producing and storing electric energy in the form of a capacitor. The CNTs are to be arranged in a pattern using 3D printing to generate a Split Ring

Resonator (SRR) metamaterial. Past research has shown generating CNT SRR patterns …

Simple Auto-Tuning Sliding Mode Control For Inductive Power Transfer Systems, Andres Cavada Mar 2017

Simple Auto-Tuning Sliding Mode Control For Inductive Power Transfer Systems, Andres Cavada

Undergraduate Research at FIU (URFIU) Conference

Self-tuning controllers for inductive power transfer (IPT) systems based on a simple sliding-mode control (SMC) method is proposed in this paper. The SMCs are designed based on the energyinjection and free-oscillation techniques and they are able to regulate the resonant current around a reference current autonomously. The proposed controllers automatically synchronize the switching operations of the power electronic converters to the resonance current of the IPT system. As a result, this feature eliminates any potential need for manual frequency tuning and maximizes the that we could extract from this system. Also, it enables soft-switching operations (zero-current switching) which will improve …

Satori Trainer A Wearable Exercising Tracking Device Taking Your Fitness Goals To The Next Level, Emmalie Morisseau Mar 2017

Satori Trainer A Wearable Exercising Tracking Device Taking Your Fitness Goals To The Next Level, Emmalie Morisseau

Undergraduate Research at FIU (URFIU) Conference

With the increasing emphasis on health in the United States coupled with the continuing growth of technology across the world, the fitness technology industry has significantly soared over the years. Wearable exercising equipment's such as smart watches and step counters have become quite popular. In this project we aim to design a wearable tracking motion system that will be integrated into an exercising gear. This product will obtain user's motion and body postures to provide real-time feedback via an interface on how to correct movements and perform the right exercise. With this product, amateurs and professionals will be able to …

User Effects On Wearable Conformal Scmr System, Karina Quintana, John Gibson Mar 2015

User Effects On Wearable Conformal Scmr System, Karina Quintana, John Gibson

Undergraduate Research at FIU (URFIU) Conference

The performance of a compact, wearable Conformal Strongly Coupled Magnetic Resonance (CSCMR) system is studied when the antenna is in the air and is worn on a user’s arm. The wireless powering system consists of the receiver and load elements designed on a printed circuit board that is attached to a polyester fabric band. The wearable antenna achieves high efficiency, has a small volume, and can be easily printed on substrates. Although the user effect on mobile terminal antennas has been studied in detail, absorption losses in wearable antennas have not been widely investigated. Our results show that efficiency of …
