Progress And Typical Case Analysis Of Demonstration Projects Of The Geological Sequestration And Utilization Of Co2, Liu Shiqi, Huang Fansheng, Du Ruibin, Chen Shiheng, Guan Yiting, Liu Yinghai, Wang Tao

Coal Geology & Exploration

The implementation of the geological sequestration and utilization of CO2 (CGSU) has considerable effects on CO2 emission reduction and is of great significance for the mitigation of global warming and the execution of the sustainable development strategy in China. Therefore, this study sorted the major methods for CGSU, made statistics of the global demonstration projects of CGSU, and primarily introduced the typical demonstration projects of CGSU in China. Furthermore, this study proposed prospects for the development trend of the CGSU technologies, which primarily include CO2 enhanced oil recovery (CO2-EOR), CO2 enhanced coalbed methane recovery …

Food Waste Storage Gaseous Emissions Detection And Quantification Using Infrared Spectroscopy, Ryley A. Burton-Tauzer Jan 2023

Food Waste Storage Gaseous Emissions Detection And Quantification Using Infrared Spectroscopy, Ryley A. Burton-Tauzer

Cal Poly Humboldt theses and projects

A growing interest in sustainable waste management and the implementation of new policies have prompted a shift towards alternative resource recovery methods for organic waste, including food waste. To effectively assess alternative food waste treatment scenarios, it is important to evaluate the life cycle impacts associated with each scenario. The storage phase of food waste, encompassing its accumulation in kitchens, and storage in bins for collection and transportation, has been overlooked as a source of greenhouse gases in previous studies. This investigation aimed to identify the greenhouse gases emitted during the initial five-day period of low-oxygen storage. An open dynamic …

Surface Free Energy Of Shale Gas In Niutitang Formation In Guizhou Province, Li Xijian, Yin Xin, Li Weiwei, Liu Shangping, Zhang Pei Jan 2019

Surface Free Energy Of Shale Gas In Niutitang Formation In Guizhou Province, Li Xijian, Yin Xin, Li Weiwei, Liu Shangping, Zhang Pei

Coal Geology & Exploration

In order to study the adsorption mechanism of shale for gas, the isothermal adsorption experiments on shale samples from wells Fengcan 1 and Tianma 1 in Guizhou Province were carried out at 50℃, 60℃, 80℃, and the isothermal adsorption curves of CH4 and CO2 were plotted, the shale surface free energy was calculated and the adsorption characteristics of CH4 and CO2 from shale were analyzed by the surface free energy. The results show that when the temperature is constant, the surface free energy of shale gas increases with the increase of pressure, and the change of …

Geochemistry And Inorganic Carbon Transport Of A Glacial Till Drumlin At A Road Salt Facility, Houbao Li Sep 2013

Geochemistry And Inorganic Carbon Transport Of A Glacial Till Drumlin At A Road Salt Facility, Houbao Li

Open Access Dissertations

Investigations were conducted at a salt/premix storage facility lying on top of a glacial drumlin near the coastline in eastern Massachusetts, to characterize salt contaminated groundwater. Groundwater hydrogeochemical variations at different depths were determined based on ten years of monthly or quarterly water quality data from 54 monitoring wells. Groundwater was grouped in three water categories – shallow, middle and deep. Hydrogeochemical characterization indicates that the dominant water types are Na-Cl, Na-Ca-Cl and Ca-HCO3 from the shallow to deep water group. Rock weathering is the dominant hydrogeochemical process for deep water group, whereas salt water percolation and cation exchange control …

A Study Of The Action Of Various Energizers In The Carburization Of Steel, William N. Warren May 1948

A Study Of The Action Of Various Energizers In The Carburization Of Steel, William N. Warren

Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970

The object of casehardening is to produce articles of steel having a tough or ductile interior and a hard surface. Quenching produces a surface somewhat harder than the interior, but in order to obtain a high surface hardness, the percentage of alloying elements in the steel must be raised to such an extent that the core or central portion becomes hard and brittle also.
