In this paper we present the results from an experimental study of the call capacity of an IEEE 802.11b network when using VoIP telephony. Experiments include increasing the number of VoIP users in a wireless test-bed and increasing the level of background traffic until network saturation occurs. The experiments allow us to perform an analysis of the access point (AP) buffer dynamics. Results show that the network is capable of supporting up to 16 VoIP stations (STAs).
