Migration is a complex social phenomenon whose causes, motivations and consequences are diverse. The economist, therefore, cannot presume the mono­poly of its explanation. He, like specialists of other disciplines, emphasizes the variables of his concern. How K-3 Classroom Teachers Are Dealing With Pupils Coming From One-Parent Homes Due To Separation Or Divorce, Nancy Mitchell

Kindergarten through third grade classroom teachers need professional training on how to assist pupils coming from one-parent homes due to separation or divorce. The methods that are employed by kindergarten, first, second, and third grade classroom teachers were surveyed using a questionnaire specifically designed for the study. The results of the questionnaire were presented in tables, using the raw scores. The study concludes that teachers are willing to assist pupils in this trying situation, but they feel inadequate to do so. Problem. Many children with allergic problems go without treatment because their problems go unrecognized by both their parents and teachers. The purpose of this project was to bring about change on the part of teachers enabling them better to address allergic problems in their students. Literature was reviewed with respect to allergies and with respect to the use of inservice seminars for teachers. The posttest means for all three areas of measurement of the seminar group and control group were adjusted for pretest scores by analysis of covariance which indicated a significant difference in favor of the seminar group in …
