Background: Students require knowledge and skills in clinical leadership in order to address the issue of ageism. An e-learning module was developed that used ageism as an exemplar to practise using the skills and knowledge needed for clinical leadership. Ageism was chosen because it is prevalent in nursing culture and nursing education and influences nursing practice with older people.

Introduction: The purpose of this critical reflection is to share the collective experiences of eight doctoral students transitioning through a PhD nursing program at a Canadian University.

Background: Globally, a nursing shortage of over a million nurses threatens to significantly impact patient safety and quality of care. Contexte. Les soins palliatifs et de fin de vie (SPFV) visent à soulager la douleur, apaiser la souffrance et à préserver la dignité des personnes présentant un pronostic réservé. Given the current trend toward online nursing education and the recent changes to teaching and learning modalities as a result of a global pandemic, developing a distance-learning pedagogy for students that seeks to explore the power of compassion in the digital world is both timely and necessary. Drawing on pedagogical strategies used in an online nursing course including asynchronous online discussions called Tea Cafés, the authors showcase how they advanced knowledge and understanding in relation to nursing leadership and professional formation.
