This paper focus on making a shift from a traditional higher education institution toward a focus on lifelong learning, including the following: Research on the background and experiences of various institutions in this regard, developing a policy statement on elements of this re-orientation as a product of a worldwide conference, and ultimately constructing "measurable performance indicators" for the seven elements - overacting frameworks, strategic partnership, and linkages research, teaching and learning, processes, administration policies and mechanism, decision support systems, and student support systems and services.

What Difference Does It Make?: Digital Technology In The Theological Classroom, Mary E. Hess

Digital technologies can make a difference in helping theological educators to align their Christian convictions and pedagogical strategies more effectively by (1) providing a richer, more multiply intelligent environment within which to learn; (2) providing more opportunities for collaboration; (3) giving teachers a better angle of vision on the challenges their students are facing and the specific assumptions with which they enter courses; (4) providing better access to primary source materials; (5) overcoming constraints of geography and time; and (6) attending to the meaning-making contexts of our students and our communities of faith.

Facilitating An Online Community Among Community College Peer Tutor Trainees, Matthew Robert Ruzicka

Theses Digitization Project

The project presents a web-based component for a tutor training program at College of the Desert, Palm Desert, California. The application is designed to be responsive and adaptable to the tutor's needs. It also addresses the logistic and pedagogical problems that plague many community college tutor trainers and helps to mitigate this through an online instructional system that facilitates communication among the tutors so that learning can occur in a situated context.
