Many information technology (IT) managers have experienced challenges retaining high-tech professionals. Organization leaders lose investments of time and money when essential personnel leave. Grounded in the task-technology fit theory and the technology acceptance model, the purpose of this qualitative multiple-case study was to explore technology-focused strategies IT managers use to attract and retain IT professionals. The participants included five IT managers from five high-tech organizations who implemented strategies to attract and retain IT professionals. Data were collected from semistructured interviews and online resources.
