The overarching purpose of this dissertation was to develop an e-Learning course in physical activity and sedentary behaviour and test its short-term efficacy and implementation among pre- and in-service early childhood educators (ECEs). The Delphi approach was adopted for Study 1, wherein a panel of international experts in physical activity and sedentary behaviour suggested topics for the course and, together with a panel of ECE experts, rated their importance. Study 2 employed a pre-post design to explore the changes in pre- and in-service ECEs’ physical activity and sedentary behaviour-related knowledge, self-efficacy, behavioural intention, and perceived behavioural control following course completion. …

BACKGROUND: As athletic trainers (ATs) educators and professionals we recognize the importance of preparing our students to practice as part of an interprofessional team and acknowledge that this training must begin while they are in the academy. Although there is lots of information about interprofessional education (IPE) in various other healthcare professions (HCPs), there is limited information about how AT educators are infusing IPE into the curriculum. This study assessed the partial as well as the collaborative impact of age and gender on academic staff preparedness to adopt Internet tools for research sharing in African universities during Covid-19. Although evidence abounds in the literature on gender and age as they affect relatively, scholars’ utilisation of digital tools for research communication, such studies did not examine scholars’ preparedness to adopt from a broad perspective of Africa. The purpose of this mixed methods study was to determine the overall role and awareness of Rowan University's sexual violence programs through the perceptions of undergraduate students. An online survey was distributed to all enrolled Rowan University undergraduate students to determine their perceptions of the sexual violence initiatives. After the survey was closed, semi-structured virtual interviews were conducted to further investigate those perceptions. Out of the 16,874 surveys distributed, 301 complete responses were recorded, which was about a 1.8% response rate. The purpose of this narrative inquiry study was to examine how well-aware and equipped head coaches are when handling a student-athlete with mental health-related conditions. The primary goals of this study were to interview head coaches and learn about what resources their college institution provides for them, as well as the steps taken when approached by a student-athlete concerned about their mental health. Currently, we are faced with an important equity gap and opportunity for nursing in higher education related to Indigenous Peoples and health. While Westernized higher education often marginalizes Indigenous Peoples, there is an important opportunity to respectfully engage with Indigenous Knowledges. Furthermore, broadening perspectives beyond a dominant Westernized worldview has the potential to advance higher education for Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners alike. We are concerned that ongoing assimilation of Indigenous learners poses a profound risk of social injustice that is contrary to the aim of higher education. Lung transplant patients are administered Immunosuppressive Drugs (ISDs) to prevent transplant rejection, but this also puts them at constant risk of infection due to the decreased ability of the immune system to respond to subsequent infections by viruses, bacteria etc.

Purpose

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many universities to expand the use of videoconferencing technology to continue academic coursework. This study examines dental students’ experience with videoconferencing technology, comfort levels, and perceptions of using videoconferencing technology.

Methods: 54 out of 100 second-year dental students enrolled in a course on local anesthesia, 54 completed a survey following an online synchronous lecture given in September 2020. Survey questions asked about prior experience with videoconferencing, comfort levels, and reasons for not turning on their video (showing their face).

Results: Overall, 48.2% had little or no prior experience with videoconferencing prior to March 2020. …

The CDC research actively continues gathering information related to short and long-term symptoms that remain following the acute phase of Covid-19 diagnosis (CDC, 2020).

Fatigue and shortness of breath are listed among the most commonly reported long-term symptoms of Covid-19:

1. Fatigue
2. Shortness of Breath
3. Cough
4. Joint Pain
5. Chest Pain (CDC, 2020).

Evidence suggests that older adults over the age of 60 who have multiple comorbidities are more susceptible and are at a higher risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus thus potentially prolonging recovery time post diagnosis (Greenhalgh, Knight, A’Court, Buxton, & Husain, 2020).
