Each person ongoingly experiences the world uniquely through vital processes shaping their subjectivity, personhood and sense of self. Learning, an innate characteristic or modality of each human life, of living, likewise arises subjectively or idiosyncratically. In this paper, a phenomenological lens is applied to auto/biographical excerpts concerned with various learning experiences to help reveal essential, subjective characteristics of emergent learning. The insights help establish a basis for challenging the primacy of objectivist learning evaluations. This study aimed to identify the reasons and the suggested solutions for cyberbullying in children in the Kuwaiti society. The study compared the Kuwaiti fathers’ and mothers’ points of view, using the descriptive analytical approach. 377 surveys were randomly distributed among parents in Kuwait. The study identified some reasons for cyberbullying in children as follows: (1) reasons related to the media, such as imitating social media celebrities and watching violent movies and series; (2) reasons related to the family, such as domestic violence, not allowing the child to express their feelings, and the lack of house rules that ban cyberbullying; …

Making Meaningful Connections With Steam For Elementary Aged Students In China, Francis Stonier

The STEAM Journal

This program included a summer STEAM experience for over 130 Chinese elementary aged children. During the week they constructed and tested an egg drop package, explored the local natural history museum, learned about animal footprints and the habitats they live in, dug up dinosaur fossils, and launched rockets. For many, this was their one of their first formal experiences with STEAM activities. The experiences provided a positive introduction or continued support for STEAM at the primary level.

The growing incidence of bullying in schools calls for alternative prevention and mediation approaches in which values are integrated into current practices. This study explores educators’ and parents’ beliefs about the explicit application of a values-based approach to bullying intervention and mediation in Catholic schools. Individual and focus group interview among teachers, principals and parents were held in three Catholic primary schools in the Sydney Metropolitan area. The purpose of this study was to explore the reasons for parents' reluctance to register their children in public education and their preference for private education in kindergarten in the State of Kuwait. ACER Indonesia is partnering with the William and Lily Foundation and Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation on a two year project which promises to improve the learning and development outcomes of Indonesian children in early childhood and development centres. This project will focus on Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) centres or Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUDs) in 12 villages. These villages have been selected because their teachers have not received mandatory training from the government and many children have delayed physical development, or stunting.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of discipline formats on student development and analyze if the practice of restorative justice can decrease the school to prison pipeline. Does criminalizing every discrepancy against the law create better law-abiding citizens? Is the zero-tolerance policy change an effective mechanism for school discipline? Do restorative justice practices reduce the school to prison pipeline? To investigate this, the infraction rates at various high schools have been observed in regard to their discipline practices to analyze the number of incidences that students incur and how they were managed.
