The Inclusion Of Classroom-Related Dispositions In Teacher Evaluations, David K. Griffin
Excelsior: Leadership in Teaching and Learning

Pre-Service Teachers Evaluate Mentors And Teaching Practice Schools Using Metaphors, Suzan Canli, Hasan Demirtas
Journal of Global Education and Research
The present study aimed to analyze the views of pre-service teachers, expressed through metaphors, about the adequacy of mentors and teaching practice schools and their recommendations for effective mentoring. Changing Traditions: Supervision, Co-Teaching, And Lessons Learned In A Professional Development School Partnership, David S. Allen, Michael Perl, Lori Goodson, Twyla K. Sprouse
Educational Considerations
Considering how long societies have been educating their youth, the history of teacher education is relatively brief. The first efforts to provide systematic education for teachers with some kind of practical experience occurred in Rheims, France, in the late 17th century when Jean Baptiste De La Salle opened the first normal school.

Transforming Undergraduate And Graduate Candidate Social Perceptions About Diverse Learners Through Critical Reflection, Tonnie Martinez, Janet Penner-Williams, Socorro Herrera, Diane Rodriguez
Educational Considerations
Each preservice or inservice teacher who faces the prospect of student diversity in clinical experiences or practice settings does so with an individual set of assumptions about cultures and languages that differ from his or her own. Mezirow (1991) maintained that reflections on such assumptions and presuppositions about oneself and others can lead to “transformative learning”; or “learning that transforms problematic frames of reference."

The Urban Teacher Residency Program: A Recursive Process To Develop Professional Dispositions, Knowledge, And Skills Of Candidates To Teach Diverse Students, Kathleen Tindle, Maxine Freund, Bridget Belknap, Colin Green, Jay Shotel
Educational Considerations
To be prepared to teach in an urban setting, preservice teachers must exit their teacher preparation program with a professional disposition toward equity and social justice as well as the knowledge and skills required to meet the needs of all students in their classroom.

Moving Beyond Bricks And Mortar: Changing The Conversation On Online Education, Teresa Miller, Michael Ribble
Educational Considerations
Online learning has changed education in many ways. This change was not mandated, but instead filled a need expressed by students. Picciano and Seaman (2009) estimated that more than a million K-12 students took an online class in 2007-2008.

Educational Considerations
The purpose of this researcher-school collaborative study was to examine factors which might be intervenable by urban high school counselors in assisting at-risk students. Educational Considerations
High quality education is critical to both the individual and the nation. At the country level, as Ireland’s minister for education and science, put it, “The never ending search for competitive advantage in the global knowledge economy has led all public policymakers to focus on education as a key factor in strengthening competitiveness, employment and social cohesion.”

New Rules, New Roles: Technology Standards And Teacher Education, Becky Pasco, Phyllis G. Adcock
Educational Considerations
The digital age is infiltrating colleges of education around the country, but while some faculty are jumping on the bandwagon and working hard to improve their own technological literacy and that of their students, other faculty are resistant, afraid that technology may “dehumanize” education.
