The purpose of this study was to survey selected existing facilities and to develop guidelines for planning facilities for the adult learner. The following subproblems were identified in order to adequately treat the problem: (1) To describe selected facilities for the adult learner; (2) To identify those elements considered essential, highly desirable, and significant in planning a facility for the adult learner. During the 1970's educational leaders in Thailand worked towards a plan to adopt population education at all levels in the educational system. At the time of this study, population education had been integrated into almost every level within the school system. A handbook was developed to assist teachers and librarians in the presentation of the Caldecott books to elementary children. This handbook provides suggested enrichment materials and activities which can be used with children. Through these related activities children should become more aware of the importance of the Caldecott books as special picture books in the field of literature.

The intention of this project is to develop a middle school extracurricular program which encourages academic excellence. Providing an enrichment program was the stated goal of a community- staff meeting on district priorities. A questionnaire sent to area schools and a thorough review of available literature revealed no existing program to use as a role model . The Corps of Discovery program attempts to meet the need for encouraging and rewarding academic excellence.

A series of 50 lessons were developed to transfer the reading skills of comprehension, context clues and study skills to their use in gaining information from the social studies textbook. The lessons were developed to be used in conjunction with the fourth grade social studies textbook, Environments, American Book Company. The lessons include objectives for each skill, the strategy to be developed and extra enrichment materials required for the implementation of the skill. The purpose of this study was to develop sequential lessons to help teachers work with students who have delayed communication abilities. A syllabus of forty lessons was developed to provide additional instruction and practice in the areas of expressive and receptive language skills.
