Utilizing The Multiple Intelligences Theory In Classrooms, Priscilla Wreede

Graduate Teacher Education

Teachers have the seemingly impossible task of providing instruction that meets the needs of each learner in their classrooms. In their quest to provide quality instruction for all, many teachers have started to implement the Multiple Intelligences Theory into their lessons. Several studies have been analyzed to understand how intelligences can be identified and developed in students and how proper implementation of this theory can affect students’ motivational levels and academic achievement. The studies showed that when students are aware of their own strongest intelligences and/or their teachers are aware, they are able to develop the intelligences to a higher …

How Does Child Maltreatment Impact Social Emotional Development In Children Under Five?, Jazmine Fennig

Research examined in this paper found that children under the age of five years old who are victims of child maltreatment, can display hindered development in social emotional behavioral domains. Being that the brain develops so rapidly and is fragile during this age, there is a plethora of developmental, mental struggles, personal struggles, and complications that children can face during the remaining years of childhood, adolescence, and adulthood as a result (Campbell, Walker, & Egede, 2016; Kahr Nilsson, Landorph, Houmann, Olsen & Skovgaard, 2019; & McKelvey, Edge, Mesman, Whiteside-Mansell & Bradley, 2018). Effects can range from short term to long …

Data were collected through focus groups, semistructured interviews, and the evaluation of values-based lesson plans. It was analyzed with the intent of gaining greater understanding of how teachers’ perspectives regarding social …

Human Resource Management Practices For Public School Principals: Recruitment, Selection, And Development, David E. Atherton

CUP Ed.D. Dissertations

Increasing complexities of educational contexts intensify the importance of hiring effective principals and using systematic support to shift from manager to instructional leader. Using a systematic framework of support is responsive and adaptive to contextual and personnel variables affecting principal human resource management (HRM). It was not known what HRM practices districts used to recruit, select, and develop principals in Oregon public school districts. Using a qualitative methodology, a descriptive case study surveyed (using Farr’s, 2004 and Van de Water’s, 1987 instruments) and interviewed (using Hensley, Kracht, & Strange’s, 2013 interview protocol) district administrators, triangulating with document analysis of 2016‒17 …
