The action research plan documented in this paper was driven by the researcher's interest in the most effective strategies for optimizing student achievement of new notes on a band instrument. During four cycles, the researcher gathered student achievement of new notes when teacher monitoring and student monitoring. Fifth grade students playing the flute completed both types of monitoring and the results were recorded and compared using a dependent T-test and a bar graph. This research determined the impact of the interactive technology Pear Deck on student achievement and perceptions of learning. Existing peer-reviewed research on the topic is limited. In this action research, the researcher had one 10th grade Global Studies class learn the subject matter from a traditional teacher-led lecture, while the other class learned the same content using a student-paced Pear Deck. The purpose of this action research project is to determine if there is a correlation between Kagan cooperative learning and student achievement and engagement in mathematics. Data was collected using a mixed methods approach. Quantitative data was gathered through three math pre and posttests. Qualitative data was collected through observations and interactions with students. Analysis of the data collected suggests that students are more engaged when working in cooperative teams. Growth was also noted from pretests to the posttest.

The purpose of this action research project was to determine if the use of a supplemental computerized math practice program increases student achievement in the fractions domain for fifth graders. Two fifth grade math classes received the same classroom instruction. However, one class also utilized a computerized program three times per week for 20-30 minutes over a six-week period. Data was collected through quantitative pre- and post-assessments, quantitative survey questions, and qualitative student responses.
