Educator Feedback On A Farm Tractor And Machinery Safety Training Program: Implications For Program Content And Success, Linda Fetzer, Brenna Butler, Judd Michael

This article provides results from a survey of instructors who have offered the National Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation Program (NSTMOP) to youth planning to work in agriculture. Youth younger than age 16 who wish to be employed on non-family farms are required to complete an approved safety training program to operate tractors and other powered machinery. A survey of educators who offered the NSTMOP program was conducted to learn more about their successes, challenges, and feedback related to the instructor training course and program materials. Results provide direction to the instructors’ programmatic needs with respect to teaching safety-related topics.

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is an international comparative study of student performance directed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). PISA measures the cumulative outcomes of education by assessing how well 15-year-olds, who have nearly completed compulsory schooling in most participating educational systems, are prepared to use their knowledge and skills in particular areas to meet real-world opportunities and challenges. The purpose of this hermeneutic phenomenological study was to explore the lived experiences of noncredit homeless students enrolled in a retention model program at a noncredit community college institution. The lived experiences of noncredit homeless students were generally defined as homeless adult learners enrolled in a noncredit community college institution participating in a retention model program. Retention was generally defined as keeping students enrolled each term or term to term. The research examined noncredit homeless students’ basic needs, barriers to retention, and motivation to stay enrolled. While Trauma-and-Violence-Informed-Care (TVIC) within classrooms promotes safety for all students, it is especially important for those with past or ongoing experiences of trauma and violence—and for those with unique stressors, such as military-connected students (MCS). The current study therefore sought to determine when and how best to present teachers with TVIC training. Correlation and regression analyses were conducted to examine survey responses from 89 Ontario teachers and teacher candidates, and twelve follow-up interviews were examined using reflexive thematic analysis. Amid the challenges in a global village, leadership education needs to surpass traditional methods, nurturing creativity, flexibility, and adaptability. This study is a collaborative action inquiry that considers music as an arts-based method in service of leadership development. The study unfolded over five cycles, in which 14 coinquirers collaborated in a process of exploration. The study illuminates the strong potential of music as a provocation for leadership development and reveals crucial realizations in the area of facilitation in collective processes.

The purpose of the research was to create and validate a safety performance decision-making tool to transform a reactive safety model into a predictive, decision-making tool, specific to flight training organizations, to increase safety and aid in operational decision-making. Using Monte Carlo simulation, the study conducted simulation runs based on operational ranges to simulate the operating conditions with varying levels of controllable resources in terms of personnel (Aviation Maintenance Technicians and Instructor Pilots) and expenditures (active flight students and available aircraft). Background: In the United States (U.S.), falls are the leading cause of injury among adults 65 and over, resulting in 36 million falls yearly (Moreland et al., 2020). According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, 2023), one in four older adults experiences a fall each year. Falls are the world's second most prominent cause of accidental deaths (World Health Organization [WHO], 2021). Falls are the leading cause of both fatal and non-fatal injuries among older adults (Moreland et al., 2020).

Marginalized students often feel a greater sense of detachment from their schools in comparison to non-marginalized peers (Bottiani et al., 2017). Mentorship programs provide positive experiences that enhance adolescents’ social, behavioral, and academic development.
