7. Stem Equity Program Evaluation Rubric Promise Program, Adrienne Coleman, Traci Ellis, Hannah Anderson Feb 2021

7. Stem Equity Program Evaluation Rubric Promise Program, Adrienne Coleman, Traci Ellis, Hannah Anderson

Equity and Excellence Scorecard

The STEM Equity Program Evaluation Rubric is designed to help program administrators, designers, implementers and funders identify the critical attributes of a STEM program to determine the degree to which it is inclusive and supports access and success for students who historically have not engaged in STEM. Serving “all students” does not ensure equity, so considering how each of these attributes impacts underrepresented students in STEM and addressing those barriers will create a STEM learning environment where every student can succeed (NAPE, 2019).

Quantum Computing For The Quantum Curious, Ciaran Hughes, Joshua Isaacson, Anastasia Perry, Ranbel F. Sun, Jessica Turner

Open Access Books and Manuals

This open access book makes quantum computing more accessible than ever before. A fast-growing field at the intersection of physics and computer science, quantum computing promises to have revolutionary capabilities far surpassing “classical” computation. This classroom-tested textbook uses simple language, minimal math, and plenty of examples to explain the three key principles behind quantum computers: superposition, quantum measurement, and entanglement. It then goes on to explain how this quantum world opens up a …

Society Of Women Engineers: Central Illinois Award, Joyce Li '22

Distinguished Student Work

A healthy nation is a wealthy nation. The well-being of the citizens of the United States lies in the hands of, frankly, themselves. The activists who promote progress and prosperity. The engineers who create that which have never been. And lastly, the medical professionals that allocate years of their life to study, treat, and improve the physical well-being of their populations. Yet as America progresses with time, our healthcare system is failing the very people it was meant to serve: the public. More than 82 million people in this country have inadequate or no health insurance. As this number rises …
