Teaching Responsively During Covid-19: Learning How To Model, Modeling How To Learn, Lindsay M. Keazer
Teaching Responsively During Covid-19: Learning How To Model, Modeling How To Learn, Lindsay M. Keazer
Education Faculty Publications
A teacher educator describes learning to teach responsively through the Covid-19 pandemic; shifting focus from secretly struggling to manage the upset of work/life balance, to living out the challenges in community with her students. By sharing struggles transparently rather than concealing, she found opportunities to connect with students about the complex challenges they were facing. This process was one of learning how to model empathetic education, and simultaneously modeling to future teachers how to learn to enact responsive pedagogies through unexpected challenges in teaching.

The novel coronavirus and COVID-19 are dramatically changing campus life. Most graduation ceremonies have been cancelled, leaving many thousands of academic gowns unused. The organisation Gowns 4 Good requests donations of gowns, which it donates to hospitals so their medical staffs can use them as personal protective equipment, which is in short supply.

Teaching And Learning Through Shared Grief And Loss During Covid-19, Amanda Thorpe
Michigan Reading Journal
The closure of Michigan’s schools and the emergency learning that followed no doubt kept students and teachers safe during a global pandemic, but the fallout from these transitions is differing amounts of shared grief and loss among students and teachers. Giving staff and students time, space, and resources to process this will be essential in any plan for returning to learning in the fall.

Specifically, we discuss the school choice context in New York City with attention to the Catholic school sector and how Universal Pre-K fits into it. We then make recommendations on how the Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn can utilize their resources, maintain enrollment, and …

Considering parents as important key in children’s education during the Covid 19 outbreak, it is necessary to explore their perceptions regarding their involvement in children’s remote learning. Towards A Flexible Learning Ecosystem In Philippine Tertiary Education, Robert C. Roleda, Ador R. Torneo, Raymond R. Tan
Angelo King Institute for Economic and Business Studies (AKI)
The Philippines has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by implementing a lockdown in an effort to suppress the spread of the disease. This measure has led to unprecedented disruption in many sectors of the economy. Educational institutions have similarly been affected. As schools are the ideal breeding ground for “super spreader” events, the suspension of face-to-face instruction is an important control measure from a public health perspective. Physical closures may need to be maintained even after the lockdown is eased. This situation poses a challenge on how to maintain the continuity of the Philippines’ human capital development during the pandemic.
