Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has become a popular phrase in all aspects of the educational world of the last couple decades. Research shows the clear need for teaching students the skills they need to function socially and emotionally. This is becoming increasingly important with the rise of students diagnosed with Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD). Educators are learning that traditional approaches modifying student behaviors, such as using punishments and rewards are not working for students with EBD.
