Transformational Leadership Qualities Among Students Within Doctoral Higher Education Leadership Programs is a mixed-method study utilizing program evaluation of course descriptions and transformational leadership fostering activities, interviews with program chairs surrounding transformational leadership fostering activities, and completion of the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5x™) survey results from doctoral higher education students and their programs within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Educational technology has the benefit of creating active learning environments in both online and face-to-face classrooms. With the globalization of education, numerous educational tools and resources have been developed to create authentic learning experiences in the classroom. These tools can vary from web-based collaboration tools, such as Google Docs and VoiceThread, to a video tool such as FlipGrid. Such technology can be used in both live (synchronous) or online (asynchronous) classroom settings. With so many options, understanding how to select tools and how they can be integrated into instruction is important and thus is the focus of this entry.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are becoming a significant, mission-driven trend within educational literature. To help address rising costs, instructors and designers are looking to OER to effectively replace traditional instructional content, which requires more than just identify and replace. Drawing from 51 OER studies conducted in countries across the five continents, this systematic literature review explored the empirical themes evident in the current research on a global scale. This review found (1) discoverability, sustainability, and remixing are significant barriers that stand in the way of OER disrupting traditional textbook models; (2) there is no significant difference in learning outcomes when …
