The University of Maine softball team will be looking to rebound from a 17-23-1 season of a year ago. The Black Bears are poised to make a run at the conference title this season and improve on its fifth place finish last year (7-7). UMaine advanced into the league tournament as the fifth seed in 1996 falling to Vermont, 5-4, and Drexel, 7-6, in its first two games. Former Black Bear Kelly Dow was named alltoumment.
